COOPERATION: Working together to do more than you can do alone.
Series Memory Verse: “Two people are better than one. They can help each other in everything they do.” Ecclesiastes 4:9 (NIrV)
Main Point: We can work together to change someone’s life.
Bible Story: Jesus Heals a Paralyzed Man | Luke 5:17-2

It’s the final episode of Finders VI: The Case of Camp Jupiter! Who’s behind the helmet, what has Elemental Building Co. been up to, and will The Finders can finally begin cooperating to solve these problems together?

In our eGroups we looked again at the Bible story from Luke 5:17-26 of Jesus healing a paralyzed man. Because the paralyzed man’s friends were willing to work together, and then keeping working together even when their first plan didn’t work, their friend made it to Jesus and was healed! When we are willing to work together with others, we can change someone else’s life, too.

When you choose to work together, you can see God do great things through us. This week, ask your child to share one thing he or she learned during this series about why it’s important to cooperate with others. Pray and thank God for your child and for opportunities to show cooperation:

“God, thank You for giving each of us the privilege of working together to show Your love to the people around us. Help us look for ways to cooperate with others so we can have a bigger impact on other people’s lives. Thank You for giving us friends and family to help us do more than we could do alone. We love You. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

Bible Story: One Body, Many Parts | 1 Corinthians 12:12-27

It was a very special week in Motion as we took a look back at the Camp Jupiter mystery with a special recap episode of Finders VI: The Case of Camp Jupiter! We got a second chance to find any clues and hints to help us solve this intergalactic mystery ad see what the Finders have been learning about cooperation.

In our eGroups we had an incredible opportunity to work together to do more than we could alone. We partnered with an organization called Hope Reins. Hope Reins uses horseback riding as a way to connect with and minister to kids who are hurting because of difficult situations in their lives.

On their own, one of our Motion kids could make one, or maybe a handful, of birthday cards to celebrate and encourage one of the kids at Hope Reins. But when ALL of the Motion kids at ALL of our Elevation campuses worked together, we were able to make hundreds of giant, super-fun birthday cards to encourage of kids who come to Hope Reins searching for healing and hope. When we worked together, we were able to do much more than we could do alone!

Bible Story: Jesus Heals a Paralyzed Man| Luke 5:17-2

When a mysterious and elusive astronaut begins scaring away all the kids at Camp Jupiter, the camp is forced to consider immediate shutdown. Mr. Stone, the camp director, turns to the Finders for help.

During eGroup time we learned how some friends from the Bible had to cooperate to get a paralyzed man to Jesus. They worked together to carry him to the house on the mat, they worked together to come up with another plan when they couldn’t get through the door, and they worked together again to lower the man safely through the roof to Jesus. Because they were willing to continue working together, their friend got to Jesus and was healed! When we are willing to work together with others, we can change someone else’s life, too.

The Finders Bring It! Challenge
We want kids to Bring It! to church. The Bring It! Challenge encourages Motion kids to bring themselves, their Bible, and scripture they’ve learned to Motion. Not only can kids be rewarded for bringing it, but the Bring It! Challenge is a fun way to grow and learn more about God and how He wants us to live.

During Finders VI: The Case of Camp Jupiter, kids can earn an awesome Finders trading card each week by:

  • FINDING Ecclesiastes 4:9 in their Bible.
  • RECITING Ecclesiastes 4:9 from memory.
  • SAYING the series virtue, COOPERATION, from memory. (COOPERATION: Working together to do more than you can do alone.)

Kids can receive prizes for collecting two different combinations of trading cards:

COOPERATION: Working together to do more than you can do alone.
Series Memory Verse: “Two people are better than one. They can help each other in everything they do.” Ecclesiastes 4:9 (NIrV)
Main Point: We can work together to help our community.
Bible Story: Nehemiah and the Wall | Nehemiah 1-6

When a mysterious and elusive astronaut begins scaring away all the kids at Camp Jupiter, the camp is forced to consider immediate shutdown. Mr. Stone, the camp director, turns to the Finders for help. To get to the bottom of their weirdest mystery yet, the Finders will have to work together like never before and cooperate with an eager new ally. Can they pull together in time to solve a mystery that is out of this world? Or is Camp Jupiter headed toward a black hole?

The Finders hear all about the strange outer-space phenomena from Mr. Stone and his suspicious daughter, Ava, and decide to help.

Finders VI: The Case of Camp Jupiter | Episode 3 from Elevation Church eKidz on Vimeo.

While it seems Caleb and X have a lot to learn about cooperation, they have started to work together to discover what the camp director’s daughter has been working on and help the Camp Jupiter community. During eGroup time we dug into God’s Word to see a great example of cooperation from the Bible to learn how we can work together to make a difference in our community, too.

Nehemiah wasn’t concerned about fame or money; all he wanted was to help rebuild the walls of Jerusalem for his people. Nehemiah also didn’t try to do it all himself; he organized the Israelites so they could all work together for the benefit of the whole community. Just like Nehemiah and the Israelites, we can work together to make a difference in our community, too.

It might feel like focusing on yourself will help you get ahead, but when we work together, we can actually accomplish more. And when we cooperate with each other, we can do great things to improve and inspire our community.
