Motion :: Week of July 22

Uniqueness: Discovering who God made you to be so you can make a difference.
Series Memory Verse: “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
Main Point: God made you to love others.
Bible Story: Lydia | Acts 16:11-15

Every person on earth is unique. We have distinct DNA, personalities, experiences, and relationships that make us different from each other. This makes us uniquely wired and wonderfully made. Because we are uniquely made in God’s image, it’s important for kids to discover more about what that means for them — how they can use their unique traits, gifts, and talents to serve and bring glory to God.

In Acts 16:11-15 we meet a woman named Lydia. Paul and Silas were traveling around and telling people about Jesus. In the city of Philippi, they headed down to the city riverbank where they thought they’d find people worshipping God. While they were there they met Lydia, a wealthy business owner. Lydia used her gift of hospitality to make Paul and Silas feel welcomed. She used her gifts to help others feel loved.

God made you to love others. God has given each of us gifts that we can use to show love to others and LOVE WEEK is a great time for kids to use the gifts God has given them! As a family serve at one, two, or 10 Love Week events and help your kid learn that being created in God’s image means reflecting His love to the people in the world around them. eKidz and LOVE Week 2016

LOVE WEEK kicks off at every Elevation location this weekend with on-campus outreach events for the whole family. Following the Worship Experience, pick-up your child from eKidz, head to the Love Week event area, and start serving together!

Go to and use the filter option to sign up for additional FAMILY-FRIENDLY events throughout the week.

In eKidz this past month, we’ve been singing a new song called Generation For You, a song all about kindness and serving. Check out the music video below. It shows a group of students who chose to live out this idea of being kind and serving those who are often overlooked when they spent time at a special needs facility.

Download the video and make it your family’s theme song for LOVE WEEK 2016!

#WorshipGames2 Episode 3

October/November Memory Verse: Romans 15:5-6, “May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Series Virtue: Unity – working together to accomplish a goal

Bible Story: The Believers Share Their Possessions | Acts 4:32-35

Main Point: United generosity helps more people

The Worship Games 2 competitors were challenged in a whole new arena this week, with entertaining results. Check it out!

The top five teams – Orange, Black, Green, Blue, and White – made it through the paddle board event and are moving onto the next week of the competition.

This week, we looked at how we can unite in our generosity. Acts 4 tells us how the early Christians shared everything they had to help those in need. By working together in their generosity, the Bible says “there were no needy persons among them.” Can you imagine that?! There’s power when people come together with the heart to help others.

Elevation Church believes wholeheartedly in this and that’s why we have partnered with strategic outreach partners both in Charlotte and around the world. Lead your family in practicing united generosity by tithing and serving with Elevation Outreach ( There are even numerous opportunities for families to serve together, as evidenced by this outreach highlight video:

United generosity helps more people!

Weekend Wrap-Up

1st – 5th Grade

Monthly Bible Verse: James 2:17-18 “In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. But someone will say, ‘You have faith; I have deeds.’ Show me your faith without deeds and I will show you my faith by my deeds.”
Bible Story: Hebrews 11:24-29
Virtue: Audacious Faith  – Daring to believe God for the impossible and doing something about it.
Main Point: Audacious Faith Leads to Perseverance
Lesson Overview:

Our memory verse, James 2:17-18, reminds us when we have audacious faith other people will be able to see it in our actions. Last week we learned from David and Jonathan (1 Samuel 20:16-42) when we have audacious faith we are able to be loyal. Moses’ life is another great example of audacious faith being shown through actions. Moses faced a lot of difficult circumstances throughout his life, but he persevered and kept trusting God. Moses’ perseverance allowed others to see his audacious faith in action.

Perseverance can be hard. Hebrews 11:27 says Moses preserved not because he was afraid of Pharaoh, but because he trusted God. When we know God and trust him, it helps us continue persevering through all situations in our life because we know God is with us.

3 years – kindergarten

Bible Story: Noah and the Ark | Genesis 6-9
Main Point: I Will Obey!
Memory Verse: “Follow God’s example . . . as dearly loved children, and walk in the way of love.” Ephesians 5:1-2a
Lesson Overview:

We made a big splash this weekend when we opened the White Warthog Water Slide! Rosie Rider created the White Warthog Water Slide because she wanted everyone to remember to obey. The water slide has some very important rules we need to obey to keep us safe and help us have the most fun! Just like we should obey the rules for the White Warthog Water Slide, we should always obey God!

From the Bible we learned that Noah obeyed God by building a giant boat called an ark. Even though there were no clouds in the sky and it hadn’t rained for a long time, Noah obeyed God’s command. When God sent a big flood to cover the whole earth, Noah and his family were kept safe because they obeyed God! Noah obeyed God, and we should obey God too!

6 weeks – 2 years

Monthly Focus: I Can Pray to Jesus Anywhere!
Weekend Activity: I Can Pray at the Playground! coloring page

We can pray to Jesus anywhere, even at the playground! The playground is a great opportunity to pray with your toddler. Head to the playground and pray for a safe and fun day before getting out of the car. If your toddler falls down, pray for their boo-boo. If your toddler makes a new friend, pray and thank God for their new friend. While playing with your toddler, say, “We can pray to Jesus at the playground. We can pray to Jesus anywhere!

#LoveWeek2013 Beyond the Banner @eKidz edition

This past weekend at all of our campuses, elementary age kids, students, and adults watched the Beyond the Banner documentary highlighting how our church is changing the world through the generosity of Elevators. One mom told us:

My 6 yo just told me that when watching the ‪#‎BeyondTheBanner‬ documentary in @eKidz she “didn’t want to blink” so she wouldn’t miss anything! Love my church & how my kids are learning that generosity makes a difference!

Below you will find the abbreviated version of the documentary that we showed in Motion.
