Quest – Week of January 28 #Quest

Bible Story: Calming The Storm | Matthew 8:23-7
Main Point: Jesus is there when I’m scared.
Memory Verse: “You are everything I need. Psalm 119:57 (NIrV)

Jesus is with us ALL THE TIME and He is all we need. He was there when the blind man needed Him. He was there when a man lowered from the roof by his friends on a mat needed Him. He was there to heal the deaf man and the lepers who needed Him. He was there to calm the storm when the disciples needed Him. Just like He was there when all these people needed Him in the past, He will be there when we need Him in the future. Jesus is all we need, and He’s with us ALL THE TIME.

In this week’s lesson Jesus calms a storm when the disciples are afraid.

There may be times when we are scared, like when we start a new school, go to the dentist, or when the lights suddenly go out. But remember that we aren’t alone—ever! Jesus is with us all the time. And He can help us when we’re scared, just like He helped the disciples in the boat.

Family activities to review the lesson lesson with your child this week:

At BathTime, let your child make waves by hitting his or her hands on the water! Talk about Jesus stopping the storm when His friends were in a boat!

At PlayTime, march around the house and randomly say, ‘Stop.’  Talk about how Jesus stopped the storm for the disciples because they were scared.

Parent Resource | Growing Knowledge: “The future of your children is not only linked to what they know, but to their desire                                                           to keep learning.”

Quest – Week of January 15 #Quest

Bible Story: Healing The Deaf Man | Mark 7:32-37
Main Point: Jesus is there when I need help.
Memory Verse: “You are everything I need.” Psalm 119:57 (NIrV)

Jesus is with us ALL THE TIME and He is all we need. He was there when the blind man needed Him. He was there when a man lowered from the roof by his friends on a mat needed Him. He was there to heal the deaf man and the lepers who needed Him. He was there to calm the storm when the disciples needed Him. Just like He was there when all these people needed Him in the past, He will be there when we need Him in the future. Jesus is all we need, and He’s with us ALL THE TIME.

In this week’s lesson, people bring a deaf man who can barely talk to Jesus and He heals him.

Imagine how frustrated the man would have been when he couldn’t hear or talk! That would have made it really tough for him to communicate with anyone. When Jesus helped the man by healing him, it changed his life! There is one Person who is always there to help, no matter what. Jesus is there when we need Him.

January Memory Verse
This month join us in helping your child learn Psalm 119:57 (NIrV). Children can recite the verse every week in January to earn a special memory verse card. When your child receives a memory verse card celebrate with them on learning their verse and put the card on their Quest poster.

You are (point up)
everything (spread arms wide)
I need. (thumbs to chest)
Psalm 119:57 (NIrV) (open hands like a book)

Jesus is with us all the time! Our verse this month tells us Jesus is everything we could ever need. We can trust Him and follow what He says because He is always there for us. Practice this verse together and encourage your child to recite it to their eGroup Leader this week in Quest.

Quest – Week of January 8 #Quest

Bible Story: The Four Friends | Mark 2:1-12
Main Point: Jesus is there when I need Him.
Memory Verse: “You are everything I need. Psalm 119:57 (NIrV)

Jesus is with us ALL THE TIME and He is all we need. He was there when the blind man needed Him. He was there when a man lowered from the roof by his friends on a mat needed Him. Just like He was there when all these people needed Him in the past, He will be there when we need Him in the future. Jesus is all we need, and He’s with us ALL THE TIME.

In this week’s lesson four men carry their disabled friend to Jesus because He has the power to help him and is there when we need Him.

It must have been frustrating not to be able to walk, but Jesus was able to help the man walk again. Just like Jesus was there for the man when he needed healing, Jesus is with us all the time and is ready to help us when we need Him!
