Quest :: Week of September 29

Monthly Focus: Whose way is perfect? (God’s way is perfect.)
Bible Story: Noah (God’s Promise) | Genesis 8:1-9:17
Main Point: God keeps His promises.
Memory Verse: “Trust the Lord with all your heart.” Proverbs 3:5, NCV

Colors are a huge part of a child’s world, and as we explore the colors of the rainbow, we will teach children that God loves them, and He always keeps His promises. We’ve all experienced a broken promise or two and our children won’t have to wait long to experience one, too. We want them to grow up knowing God always keeps His promises. No matter how long we have to wait, God will come through.

In this week’s lesson, God kept His promises to Noah and made a new promise for the whole world.

God keeps His promises. God kept His promise to Noah, and He will always keep His promises to us too.

This week as you drive, call out a color. See how many things you and your child can spy out of the window that are that color. Continue the activity by calling out a different color each time. Then, talk about how the rainbow has a lot of colors and every time we see a rainbow, it helps us remember the promise God made.

We can believe God’s promises. Even when God promises something we ourselves can’t imagine, we can believe Him because God always keeps His promises.

This week as you drive, ask your child, “Who does God love?” Encourage him/her to name someone different each time you ask. Then, talk about how much God loves everyone.

In this week’s lesson we learned we sometimes have to wait on God’s promises, like Abraham and Sarah did.

God keeps His promises even if we have to wait. Sometimes we have to wait for God’s perfect timing, but it’s always worth it.

This week as you drive, ask your child to say the memory verse with you! “Trust the Lord with all your heart,” Proverbs 3:5, NCV

God’s promises are awesome. Our God is so big and so mighty that He can do anything. He can do things we can’t so we can trust Him to keep His promises.

Before bedtime cuddle with your child and pray, “Dear God, You are SO awesome! You are strong and wise and loving. There is no one else like You! Thank You for loving us and taking care of us. We love You, God. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
