Quest :: Week of December 23

Monthly Focus: How do we know God loves us? (God gave us Jesus.)
Bible Story: Happy Birthday Jesus!  ●  Luke 2
Main Point: God gave us Jesus because He loves us.
Memory Verse: “God has given a son to us.” Isaiah 9:6, NCV

Merry Christmas!

We know that this holiday season can get really busy, and it can be tough to find opportunities to celebrate with your kids the true meaning of Christmas. So we wanted to make it easy for you! During Christmas Eve in Quest, children collected special party supplies to have their own Happy Birthday Jesus Party at home. Take the time to talk to your kids about the birth of Jesus, God’s only Son. Sing Happy Birthday, and celebrate Jesus!

In this week’s lesson,  we learned that God gave us Jesus because He loves us.

The Christmas story is a story about the BEST gift ever. God loves us so much that He gave us Jesus. That’s worth celebrating! How do we know God loves us? (God gave us Jesus.)

Can you believe it’s that time of year again? Time to decorate, bake cookies, buy gifts, sing carols, and it’s time to teach preschoolers the true story of Christmas—the story of when God gave us Jesus—the best gift ever!

The story we get to share this time of year is so special, we need tell it with excitement and wonder so that our children are excited about it, too! We want the way we tell the true story of Christmas to communicate to children that Jesus really is the best gift ever. He’s a very special delivery!

In this week’s lesson, the angels told the shepherds about Jesus.

Children can recite the verse every week in December to earn a special memory verse card. When your child receives a memory verse card celebrate with them on learning their verse and put the card on their Quest poster.

has given (extend hands forward)
a son (pretend to rock a baby)
