Quest :: Week of October 19

We all want to be strong and courageous. But how? What can help us be brave? This month, we’re teaching our preschoolers that they don’t need the super powers they see in the movies to do something courageous. When they’re afraid to walk into a dentist office or talk to a new friend, we want them to remember that they’re not alone — God is with them and He can help them be brave!

This weekend, we learned about the time Miriam was given a BIG job, but she was brave!

Pull out a lot of blocks or a puzzle with several pieces. Tell your child you have a big job to do together (build a tower or complete a puzzle). As you play, talk about how Miriam did a big job and God will help us do big jobs, too!

Quest :: Week of October 12

We all want to be strong and courageous. But how? What can help us be brave? This month, we’re teaching our preschoolers that they don’t need the super powers they see in the movies to do something courageous. When they’re afraid to walk into a dentist office or talk to a new friend, we want them to remember that they’re not alone — God is with them and He can help them be brave!

This weekend, we learned about the time God told Gideon he would win the battle, even though he fought a much bigger army.

This week, cuddle with your child and pray, “Dear God, no one is smarter than You. You know everything! We can totally trust what You say. Please help us to do what You say, because Your way is always best. We love You! In Jesus’ name, amen.”

Quest :: Week of October 5

We all want to be strong and courageous. But how? What can help us be brave? This month, we’re teaching our preschoolers that they don’t need the super powers they see in the movies to do something courageous. When they’re afraid to walk into a dentist office or talk to a new friend, we want them to remember that they’re not alone — God is with them and He can help them be brave!

This week, we learned about Daniel’s story to see that we can be brave because God is with us.

This week, when you go into your child’s room, say, “Good morning! If you’re ready to be strong and courageous, let me see your super kid pose. (Strike a superhero pose.) And who is always with us, helping us be strong and courageous? God is always with us!”

Quest :: Week of September 30

Monthly Focus: Who is always with you? (God is always with you.)
Bible Story: Jericho ● Joshua 6:1-20
Main Point: When God is with me, I can be wise.
Memory Verse: Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid… for the Lord your God goes with you.” Deuteronomy 31:6, NIV

We can do super things when we trust that God is always with us and do things His way. It’s not about what WE can do but about what GOD can do. Because God is always with us, we can be super!

In this week’s lesson, God is with Joshua.

Marching and blowing horns seemed like a strange way to take down a city, but Joshua was wise enough to know that God’s way was best, no matter how strange it might sound. Because God is always with us, He can make us wise, too!

Quest :: Week of September 23

Monthly Focus: Who is always with you? (God is always with you.)
Bible Story: Rahab and the Spies ● Joshua 2:1-22; 6:1-25
Main Point: When God is with me, I can be courageous.

In this week’s lesson, God is with Rahab.

What Rahab did took SO much courage. And because she showed courage, Rahab and her family were the only ones saved when the Israelites destroyed Jericho. We can have courage, too, when we remember that God is always with us!

September Memory Verse
This month our Bible verse tells us we don’t need to be afraid. We can be strong and courageous because God is always with us!

Children can recite the verse every week in September to earn a special memory verse card. When your child receives a memory verse card celebrate with them on learning their verse and put the card on their Quest poster.

Be strong (cross left arm over chest)
and courageous. (cross both arms over chest)
Do not be afraid (roll arms then karate chop)
for the Lord (point left finger up)
your God (point both fingers up)
goes with you.” (fists on hips)
Deuteronomy 31:6 (open hands like a book)

Practice this verse together and encourage your child to recite it to their eGroup Leader this week in Quest.
