Welcome / Video Intro

“Welcome to Motion and welcome to Drumline, our series all about respecting the rhythm! But who should we respect and how do we show it? Let’s check out the screen and find out. Say this with me now:

Respect: showing others they are important by what you say and do.

This week we’re learning all about what it means to show respect to everybody that God has made. Take a look at the screen!”

Host Video Intro

252 Story

Host Video Outro

“That’s such a great example of how God wants us to love our neighbors as we love our selves – ALL of our neighbors! When you show respect to others, you show respect to God!

Now Motion, it’s time for us to answer some questions based on the Bible story we just heard. Circle around your eGroup leaders as we prepare to answer a few questions.

Ok, first question: Why does God want us to show respect to our neighbors? Discuss that now.

(give kids time to answer the question)

Next question: Think of a time when you felt left out or felt like someone didn’t show you respect. How did that make you feel? Talk about that now.

(give kids time to answer the question)

Ok, final question: Who at your school or in your neighborhood can you show more respect to this week? How will you show more respect? Talk about that now.”

Worship Intro

“Great job, everybody! I heard some incredible answers coming from your eGroups today. It’s time for us to celebrate God’s love as we stand to our feet and sing songs of thanks and praise. Stand to your feet as we sing, ‘Strength to Dance!’”

Worship Song – Strength To Dance

Worship Song – Grace Like A Wave

Dismissal To eGroups

“Great job, Motion! Everybody stay standing because it’s time for us to head back to our eGroups. When I call your eGroup leaders’ name, you can follow them back.”

(dismiss kids back to eGroups)

VIP Welcome

“Welcome back from your eGroups! Before we continue, I wanted to take a moment and welcome some very special guests who came to visit us for the first time. Motion, help me welcome our VIPs!

(initiate applause)

If it’s your first time here, we consider you a VIP – a very important person! VIPs, turn your attention to the screen because I’ve got some special instructions just for you.

(refer to the screen)

This is a VIP lanyard. If you’re a VIP, you’re wearing this around your neck right now.

[VIP Slide – Lanyard]

When you leave Motion, you need to take that lanyard to the __________ tent called the Welcome Area.

[VIP Slide – Welcome Area]

Once you get to the Welcome Area, show them your lanyard and they will give you a gift!

[VIP Slide – Gift]

Let’s review.

[VIP Slide – All Combined]

VIP Lanyard + Welcome Area = Gift.

If you have any questions about where to go or what to do, just ask someone in a blue eKidz shirt and we’ll be more than happy to help you out!”

Game Setup – D-D-D-D-D-Drumline

“Because we’re in a series called Drumline, I thought that I’d teach you all some moves you might see in a real Drumline!

The first move is a basic call to attention. I’ll say ‘Ten-hut!’ And the you will all stand straight backed, feet together looking directly forward not moving at all. Let’s practice now! ‘Ten-hut!’

(wait for kids to fall into position, correcting as necessary)

The next move is a forward march, which is pretty simple. When you hear ‘Forward March!’ you’ll all begin marching forward. As you’re marching forward, try to match the steps of the people around you! Let’s try it now. ‘Forward March!’

(model the marching action for the kids)

Great job! The next move is a move called ‘Flank Left’ or ‘Flank Right!’ When you hear this, you’ll sharply turn to the left or to the right. Everyone ‘Flank Right!’

(have kids flank right)

Now ‘Flank Left!’

(kids should turn back to their starting positions)

Now we’re going to ‘About Face!’ That means we’re going to sharply turn around. Everyone ‘About Face!’

(wait for kids to turn around)

Now, ‘About Face’ again!

(wait for kids to face forward again)

And the last command is called ‘Parade Rest’ and it’s pretty easy. Everyone will stop marching and put their hands behind their back, feet shoulder width apart, just like this.

(model Parade Rest for the kids)

Everyone drop into ‘Parade Rest!’

(make sure everyone is performing ‘Parade Rest’ correctly)

Looking great, Motion! Remember, unless I call Parade Rest, you need to continue marching, just like a real band. Let’s get started! ‘Ten-hut!’ ‘Forward March!’

(Alternate calls with the kids. Speed up calls and move quickly through them.)

Game – D-D-D-D-D-Drumline

Bring It! Challenge Setup

“Now it’s time for us to clean up these game materials and get ready for our Bring It! Challenge.

(collect all game materials and make sure eGroup leaders have supplies to complete the Bring It! Challenge)

During this month’s Bring It! Challenge, you’ll need to do the following three things to receive a prize. Check out the screen.

(watch the Bring It! Challenge video)

That’s right, Motion! To receive your Bring It! Prize, you’ll need to:

  1. FIND 1 Peter 2:17a in your Bible and show it to your eGroup leader
  2. RECITE our memory verse for this series, 1 Peter 2:17a.
  3. SAY our virtue for this series. In fact, that’s on the screen now, too!

(say the virtue again with the kids)

Respect: showing others they are important by what you say and do.

Ok, so let’s recap. To earn your prize, you’ll need to FIND this month’s verse, RECITE the verse to your eGroup leader, and SAY the virtue for this month. Here’s what the prizes you can earn look like:

(refer to the prize slide)

Circle around your eGroup leaders and let’s work on that now!”
