Welcome / Video Intro

“Welcome to Motion! I hope you’re ready for The Big Give, our series all about how we can show generosity! But wait, how can we show generosity if we don’t know what it is? Well take a look at the screen and let’s find out together! I’ll say it once and then I want you all to say it with me. Take a look at the screen:

Generosity: Making someone’s day by giving something away.

Say that with me now.

(repeat the virtue with the kids)

Great job, Motion! It’s time for us to check out the screen and learn more about what it means to show generosity. Take a look.”

Connect Questions

“Victoria had every reason to be mad at Christmas until she remembered how God was generous and gave us His Son, Jesus. Because God was generous, Victoria knew that she could be generous, even when things around her were difficult.

Now, let’s answer a few questions about today’s Bible story and the video we watched. Circle around your eGroup leaders now!

(give kids time to circle around eGroup leaders)

First question: What reasons did Victoria have to be mad? Is it hard to be generous when you’re mad? Discuss that now.

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Second question: When was the last time you found it hard to be generous? What emotions were you feeling? Discuss that now.

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Now Motion, it’s time for our final question: When we have a friend that seems sad or upset by something, how can we show them generosity? Discuss that with your eGroup now.”

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Worship Intro

“Great job, everybody! I heard some incredible answers coming from your eGroups today. We should always be willing to show generosity to others, because God was generous when He gave us Jesus. It’s time to celebrate God’s generosity by singing songs and praising Him. Stand to your feet as we sing, ‘Noel’”

Dismissal To eGroups

“Great job, Motion! Everybody stay standing because it’s time for us to head back to our eGroups. When I call your eGroup leaders’ name, you can follow them back.”

(dismiss kids back to eGroups)

VIP Welcome

“Welcome back from your eGroups! Before we continue, I wanted to take a moment and welcome some very special guests who came to visit us for the first time. Motion, help me welcome our VIPs!

(initiate applause)

If it’s your first time here, we consider you a VIP – a very important person! VIPs, turn your attention to the screen because I’ve got some special instructions just for you.

(refer to the screen)

This is a VIP lanyard. If you’re a VIP, you’re wearing this around your neck right now.

[VIP Slide – Lanyard]

When you leave Motion, you need to take that lanyard to the __________ tent called the Welcome Area.

[VIP Slide – Welcome Area]

Once you get to the Welcome Area, show them your lanyard and they will give you a gift!

[VIP Slide – Gift]

Let’s review.

[VIP Slide – All Combined]

VIP Lanyard + Welcome Area = Gift.

If you have any questions about where to go or what to do, just ask someone in a blue eKidz shirt and we’ll be more than happy to help you out!”

Bring It! Challenge Setup

“Now Motion, it’s time for the Bring It! Challenge!

During this month’s Bring It! Challenge, you’ll need to do the following three things to receive a prize. Check out the screen.

(watch the Bring It! Challenge video)

That’s right, Motion! To receive your Bring It! prize, you’ll need to:

  1. FIND 1 Timothy 6:18 in your Bible and show it to your eGroup leader.
  2. RECITE our memory verse for this series, 1 Timothy 6:18.
  3. SAY our virtue for this series. In fact, that’s on the screen now, too!

(say the virtue again with the kids)

Generosity: Making someone’s day by giving something away.

Ok, so let’s recap. To earn your prize, you’ll need to FIND this month’s verse, RECITE the verse to your eGroup leader, and SAY the virtue for this month. Take a look at the screen and you can see the prizes now!

(refer to the prize slide)

Circle around your eGroup leaders and let’s complete the Bring It! Challenge!”

Game Setup – Cookie Toss

“Now Motion, it’s time for today’s game!

So here’s what has happened: it’s time for a big Christmas party and you’re generous enough to make cookies for all of your friends and family. Good for you! The problem is you’ve got to the get the cookies out of the oven and on the plate as fast as possible to make sure you don’t miss the party in today’s game called Cookie Toss.

One person will stand in front of their Game Group holding a plate. The other team members will form a line and at the front of each line will be a bucket filled with cookies. The first person in each line will remove a Christmas cookie from the oven and gently toss it to the person holding the tray, who will have to catch the cookie on the tray.

Each oven contains nine cookies, so everyone in your Game Group will get to toss one cookie each. Then, after everyone has tossed their cookies, we’ll see which Game Group has the most cookies still on their plate.

Everyone divide into your Game Groups, form your lines, and let’s get ready to play Cookie Toss!”
