Connect Questions

“Ruth and her new husband showed kindness to Naomi, above and beyond what was expected of them. They knew that it’s important to be kind to your family and friends.

Now, let’s answer a few questions about today’s Bible story and the video we watched. Circle around your eGroup leaders now!

(give kids a few moments to gather around their eGroup leaders)

First question: In what ways did the characters in the story show kindness? Discuss that now.

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Second question: When was the last time you showed kindness to a friend or a family member? What did you do? Discuss that now.

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Final question: Choose a family member to do something kind for this week. Who will you choose and what will you do? Be specific!”

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

VIP WELCOME

“Welcome back from your eGroups! Before we continue, I wanted to take a moment and welcome some very special guests who came to visit us for the first time. Motion, help me welcome our VIPs!

(initiate applause)

If it’s your first time here, we consider you a VIP – a very important person! VIPs, turn your attention to the screen because I’ve got some special instructions just for you.

(refer to the screen)

This is a VIP lanyard. If you’re a VIP, you’re wearing this around your neck right now.

[VIP Slide – Lanyard]

When you leave Motion, you need to take that lanyard to the __________ tent called the Welcome Area.

[VIP Slide – Welcome Area]

Once you get to the Welcome Area, show them your lanyard and they will give you a gift!

[VIP Slide – Gift]

Let’s review.

[VIP Slide – All Combined]

VIP Lanyard + Welcome Area = Gift.

If you have any questions about where to go or what to do, just ask someone in a blue eKidz shirt and we’ll be more than happy to help you out!”

Valentine’s Day Way-Out

“Great job during the Bring It! Challenge, Motion! Keep practicing your memory verse, virtue and make sure you bring your Bible so you can participate in the Bring It! Challenge next week, too!

Now some of you may have heard that this week we’re celebrating Valentine’s Day – a day to show kindness and love to people who are close to us! Well guess what? You’re our Valentine! We wanted to give you a Valentine’s Day gift, but we also wanted to let you now that in just three weeks, we’re launching a brand new eKidz series called JTV that you won’t want to miss! On the way out, make sure you grab a Valentine’s Day sweet treat and make sure you’re here for the start of JTV!”

GAME SETUP – UNWIND

“Now I know we’re in a series called Rewind, but I wanted to test your Game Groups’ ability to Unwind something in today’s game.

I’m going to give each Game Group a roll of toilet paper and your Game Group will need to unwind the toilet paper as fast as possible, using only one hand to unwind the TP. Here’s the catch, though, every few seconds I’ll call out ‘SWITCH!’ and then a new kid will have to step up and begin to unwind the toilet paper. I’m going to call out ‘SWITCH!’ Every few seconds, so all Game Groups members need to be ready to have a new kid step in and begin unwinding the TP.

The first Game Group to unravel their TP the fastest win that round and we’ll play three rounds of this game. Everyone find your Game Group, or group of 10 kids, and let’s get ready to play, ‘Unwind!’”
