Virtue: Kindness: Showing others they are valuable by how you treat them.
Main Point: Be kind to others because God is kind to you.
Bible Story: Kindness Principle.
Bible Passage: Titus 3:4-7
Memory Verse: “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” Luke 6:31, NIV

“Hello and welcome to Motion! This month we’re learning all about kindness in our new series called Rewind. Now if you’ve ever seen an old device called a VCR,
(refer to VCR image on the screen)
you may know that to rewind means to go back and do something again, like go back to the beginning of your favorite movie. Well, just like you want to watch your favorite movie over and over, there’s something else that deserves a replay, and that’s kindness! What’s kindness? Check out the screen and let’s find out.
Kindness: Showing others they are valuable by how you treat them.

That’s right, Motion! Showing kindness is something that we want to do over and over again, so let’s jump in to today’s video and find out more. Check out the screen!”

Connect Questions

“God saved us not because of the things we’ve done, but because of His mercy and kindness. Because of that, we need to show kindness to others.

Now, let’s answer a few questions about today’s Bible story and the video we watched. Circle around your eGroup leaders now!

(give kids a few moments to gather around their eGroup leaders)

First question: The character in today’s story keeps track of all of his good deeds. Is this how we’re supposed to act? Why or why not? Discuss that now.

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Second question: When was the last time someone was kind to you? How did it make you feel?

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Final question: What is something nice you can do for someone this week? Be specific!

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Worship Intro

“Motion, I Heard some incredible answers coming from your eGroups today! Great job! Now, it’s time for us to celebrate the kindness that God shows to us every day. I want everyone to stand to your feet and let’s get ready to dance and thank God for His kindness as we sing, ‘One In A Million.’”

Dismissal To eGroups

“Great job, Motion! Everybody stay standing because it’s time for us to head back to our eGroups. When I call your eGroup leaders’ name, you can follow them back.”

(dismiss kids back to eGroups)

“Welcome back from your eGroups! Before we continue, I wanted to take a moment and welcome some very special guests who came to visit us for the first time. Motion, help me welcome our VIPs!

(initiate applause)

If it’s your first time here, we consider you a VIP – a very important person! VIPs, turn your attention to the screen because I’ve got some special instructions just for you.

(refer to the screen)

This is a VIP lanyard. If you’re a VIP, you’re wearing this around your neck right now.

[VIP Slide – Lanyard]

When you leave Motion, you need to take that lanyard to the __________ tent called the Welcome Area.

[VIP Slide – Welcome Area]

Once you get to the Welcome Area, show them your lanyard and they will give you a gift!

[VIP Slide – Gift]
Let’s review.

[VIP Slide – All Combined]

VIP Lanyard + Welcome Area = Gift.

If you have any questions about where to go or what to do, just ask someone in a blue eKidz shirt and we’ll be more than happy to help you out!”

“Now Motion, it’s time for the Bring It! Challenge!

During this month’s Bring It! Challenge, you’ll need to do the following three things to receive a prize. Check out the screen.

(watch the Bring It! Challenge video)

That’s right, Motion! To receive your Bring It! prize, you’ll need to:

FIND Luke 6:31 in your Bible and show it to your eGroup leader.

RECITE the verse for this series, Luke 6:31, from memory.

SAY our virtue for this series from memory. In fact, that’s on the screen now, too!

(say the virtue again with the kids)

Kindness: Showing others they are valuable by how you treat them.

Ok, so let’s recap. To earn your prize, you’ll need to FIND this month’s verse, RECITE the verse to your eGroup leader, and SAY the virtue for this month. Take a look at the screen and you can see the prizes now!

(refer to the prize slide)

Circle around your eGroup leaders and let’s complete the Bring It! Challenge!”

Bring It! Challenge

“Today’s game is going to test your reflexes! Your Game Group will compete against each other as you pass this ball back and forth between your Group members. Now, I know that doesn’t sound too difficult, but there’s a catch!

The only way you can pass the ball between your Group members is by jumping and catching the ball and THEN tossing it to someone else before your feet hit the ground. If this sounds difficult, it is. I want to call a volunteer up to the stage to help me show what it looks like.

(call a volunteer to the stage to help you show what this looks like)

Thanks for helping me out! If you get out or if you make a bad pass to somebody, meaning there’s no way they can catch it, then you’ll step backwards out of the game circle until the next round of the game.

Now Motion, it’s time for you to find your Game Groups and form a circle. Once you’ve got your Group together in a circle, we’ll hand you the supplies you’ll need for the game.

(make sure kids are in groups of 10 for this game)

Alright Motion, now that you’re ready for the game, let’s play ‘Reflex!’”
