Welcome / Video Intro

“Hello and welcome to Motion! I’m glad to see you all here and I know you’ve spent some time this year working on your New Year’s resolutions, or commitments, like we talked about last week. But what is commitment? Let’s check out the screen and find out together!

Commitment: Making a plan and putting it into action.

Say that with me now.

(repeat the virtue with the kids)

Great job, Motion! Right now we’re going to continue with our commitment to staying fit by doing the workout of the day!”

Workout of the Day

“Our last exercise of this series is definitely the hardest one we’ll do. It’s called a chair sit and it’s actually a pose we’re going to hold. You’ll lower yourself into a seated position, but there won’t actually be a chair there!

(drop into a seated chair position)

Then, you’ll hold the position just like this. Let’s all drop into a chair position and let’s see how long we can hold it for!

(Perform a chair position sit with the kids. Encourage kids to hold it for as long as they can.)

Worship Intro

“Great job everybody! Now that we’re warmed up, let’s put that energy to good use as we sing, dance, and thank God for the amazing things He’s done. Let’s sing, ‘Dance.’”

Connect Questions

“It’s amazing to hear that even if we don’t a have a lot of money, we can still make a commitment to helping others, just like the the widow we learned about in today’s Bible story!

Now, let’s answer a few questions about today’s Bible story and the video we watched. Circle around your eGroup leaders now!

(give kids time to circle around eGroup leaders)

First question: Why did Jesus say that the money the widow gave was more important than the gift that the other people gave? Discuss that now.

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Second question: Do we need to have a lot of money to be generous? If we don’t have a lot of money, how can we still be generous? Discuss that now.

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Now Motion, it’s time for our final question: What steps can you take to start being generous? What can you do at home or at school? Discuss that with your eGroup now.”

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Dismissal To eGroups

“Great job, Motion! Everybody stay standing because it’s time for us to head back to our eGroups. When I call your eGroup leaders’ name, you can follow them back.”

(dismiss kids back to eGroups)

VIP Welcome

“Welcome back from your eGroups! Before we continue, I wanted to take a moment and welcome some very special guests who came to visit us for the first time. Motion, help me welcome our VIPs!

(initiate applause)

If it’s your first time here, we consider you a VIP – a very important person! VIPs, turn your attention to the screen because I’ve got some special instructions just for you.

(refer to the screen)

This is a VIP lanyard. If you’re a VIP, you’re wearing this around your neck right now.

[VIP Slide – Lanyard]

When you leave Motion, you need to take that lanyard to the __________ tent called the Welcome Area.

[VIP Slide – Welcome Area]

Once you get to the Welcome Area, show them your lanyard and they will give you a gift!

[VIP Slide – Gift]

Let’s review.

[VIP Slide – All Combined]

VIP Lanyard + Welcome Area = Gift.

If you have any questions about where to go or what to do, just ask someone in a blue eKidz shirt and we’ll be more than happy to help you out!”

Bring It! Challenge Setup

“Now Motion, it’s time for the Bring It! Challenge!

During this month’s Bring It! Challenge, you’ll need to do the following three things to receive a prize. Check out the screen.

(watch the Bring It! Challenge video)

That’s right, Motion! To receive your Bring It! prize, you’ll need to:

  1. FIND 1 Timothy 4:8 in your Bible and show it to your eGroup leader.

2. RECITE the verse for this series, 1 Timothy 4:8, from memory.

3. SAY our virtue for this series from memory. In fact, that’s on the screen now, too!

(say the virtue again with the kids)

Commitment: Making a plan and putting it into practice.

Ok, so let’s recap. To earn your prize, you’ll need to FIND this month’s verse, RECITE the verse to your eGroup leader, and SAY the virtue for this month. Take a look at the screen and you can see the prizes now!

(refer to the prize slide)

Circle around your eGroup leaders and let’s complete the Bring It! Challenge!”

Game Setup – Get To Know Yourself

“Our final game of the series is a game where I’m going to test your knowledge about the human body and how it works. I’m going to ask you a series of questions and your Game Group will write the answers on a whiteboard.

These questions will be all about the human body and the fascinating way it works. When I ask the question and your Group knows the answer, write it on the board and hold it up. If your Group gets it right, you’ll earn 100 points and the team with the most points at the end of the game wins!

Now, divide into your Game Groups and lets get ready to play, ‘Get To Know Yourself!’”
