WELCOME

“Welcome to Motion and welcome to the final week of our series Up In The Air! This month we’ve learned all about honesty and how we can stay honest, even when we have to make big decisions. But what is honesty? Take a look at the screen and let’s find out:
Honesty: Choosing to be truthful in whatever you say and do.

Last week we finished the final episode of our Up In The Air series, but this week we’re going to combine all of the episodes into one big Up In The Air movie, where we get to see all of Maya’s decisions play out at once so we can have a better idea of what honesty and dishonesty look like. Motion, get ready, because here’s the Up In The Air movie! Check it out!”

Connect Questions

“Motion, put your hands together one more time for Up In The Air!

(initiate applause)

Now, let’s answer a few questions about today’s Bible story you read in eGroup and the Up In The Air movie we watched. Circle around your eGroup leaders now!

(give kids a few moments to gather around their eGroup leaders)

First question: What are a few ways Maya showed dishonesty or honesty? Who did her dishonesty or honesty affect? Discuss that now.

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Second question: Describe one time when you told the truth and it helped somebody. Discuss that now.

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Final question: If you have a friend who’s being dishonest about something, how can you encourage them to be honest? How can being honest help them?”

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Worship Intro

“Motion, you had some great answers today! It’s so important for us to show honesty to others. More importantly though, is to be honest with God. One way we can honestly share our feelings towards God is through worship and singing about His great love. Stand to your feet and let’s sing, ‘Love Won’t Let Me Down!’”

Dismissal To eGroups

“Great job, Motion! Everybody stay standing because it’s time for us to head back to our eGroups. When I call your eGroup leaders’ name, you can follow them back.”

To Tell The Truth

“Welcome back, Motion! I know you had a great time in eGroup, and now it’s time for us to play, for the last time, ‘To Tell The Truth!’ Maya’s not just the only amazing pilot around here — in fact, there have been tons of famous pilots all throughout history! During this game, you’ll need to decide if the information I tell you about a famous pilot is true or false. Then, you’ll move to one side of the room or the other depending on your answer.

Ok, let’s take a look at our final pilot. Wait, I mean pilots… Pilots? Is that the right word? Anyways, check out the screen.

(refer to the first game slide)

These are Belka and Strelka: the goodest boy and girl to ever fly high. In fact, our first question is about how high they really flew! Here’s your first statement and I need you to tell me if this is true or false: Belka and Strelka were the first animals to ever go into the Earth’s orbit. True or false — make your choice by moving to the side of the room that matches up with your answer.

(give kids 30 seconds to choose one side or the other)

If you guessed the answer was true, good job! You’re right! Ok, next question:

(refer to the second game slide)

Belka and Strelka piloted their ship to the moon and returned home safely. True or False? Choose now.

(give kids 30 seconds to choose one side or the other)

If you guessed the answer was false, good job! Belka and Strelka’s mission was only ever to enter Earth’s orbit, not to go into deep space. They only entered the Earth’s orbit.

Ok, last question:

(refer to the third game slide)

Belka and Strelka were so popular in Germany that they had their own cartoon. True or false? Choose now.

(give kids 30 seconds to choose one side or the other)

If you guessed that this answer was false, you’re correct! Belka and Strelka did have their own cartoon, but they weren’t German, they were Russian! Belka and Strelka entered Earth’s orbit in 1960, becoming the first animals to ever fly that high. How cool is that?

Great job, everybody! You did such a good job in the final round of ‘To Tell the Truth.’ Go ahead and find your eGroup leader and have a seat.”

VIP WELCOME

“Before we continue, I want to take a moment and welcome our VIPs who are here with us for the first time today! Motion, help me welcome our VIPs!

(initiate applause)

If it’s your first time here, we consider you a VIP – a very important person! VIPs, turn your attention to the screen because I’ve got some special instructions just for you.

(refer to the screen)

This is a VIP lanyard. If you’re a VIP, you’re wearing this around your neck right now.

[VIP Slide – Lanyard]

When you leave Motion, you need to take that lanyard to the __________ tent called the Welcome Area.

[VIP Slide – Welcome Area]

Once you get to the Welcome Area, show them your lanyard and they will give you a gift!

[VIP Slide – Gift]

Let’s review.

[VIP Slide – All Combined]

VIP Lanyard + Welcome Area = Gift.

If you have any questions about where to go or what to do, just ask someone in a blue eKidz shirt and we’ll be more than happy to help you out!”

BRING IT! CHALLENGE SETUP

“Now Motion, it’s time for the Bring It! Challenge!

During this month’s Bring It! Challenge, you’ll need to do any of the following three things to receive a prize ticket that could earn you a huge piece of candy or our grand prize — your very own drone! Check out the screen.

(watch the Bring It! Challenge video)

That’s right, Motion! To receive a Bring It! prize ticket, you’ll need to do any of the following:

FIND Proverbs 12:22 in your Bible and show it to your eGroup leader.

RECITE the verse for this series, Proverbs 12:22, from memory.

SAY our virtue for this series from memory. In fact, that’s on the screen now, too!

(say the virtue again with the kids)

Honesty: Choosing to be truthful in whatever you say and do.
Ok, so let’s recap: to earn prize tickets and a better chance of receiving the grand prize at the end of this series, which is an awesome drone, just like the one Maya operates, you’ll need to complete the different parts of the Bring It! Challenge. For every part of the Bring It! Challenge you complete, you’ll earn another prize ticket and the more tickets you earn, the better chance you have to win an awesome drone or a giant piece of candy!

(refer to the prize slide)

Circle around your eGroup leaders and let’s complete the Bring It! Challenge!”

Motion Promotion Video Setup

“Great job during the Bring It! Challenge, Motion!

Motion, I’ve got some pretty big news! Next week is a big event called Motion Promotion. During Motion Promotion, everyone in here is moving up a grade, just like at at school. However, that also means we’ll be making new friends that will be coming into first grade and we’ll also be saying goodbye to our fifth grade friends since they’ll be joining Elevation Youth.

Check out this video to learn more!”

GAME SETUP – Barely Balanced

“Now Motion, it’s time for today’s game! Throughout Up In The Air, we saw that Maya had to be very careful when flying her drone. If you make one wrong move while flying a drone, you could break the whole thing and trust me, drone repair parts are very expensive! In today’s game, we’re going to practice what it means to stay balanced.

In this game, your Game Group will form a circle and I’ll hand one verrrry tiny spoon and an egg to each Game Group. One person in the Game Group will balance the egg on the spoon. When I say ‘Go!’ they’ll walk around the outside of their Game Group’s circle until they get back to their starting position. Then, they’ll hand the spoon and the egg to the next person in line who will do the same thing. If you drop the egg, you are allowed to pick it up right where you’re standing with no penalty – I understand it’s hard to move around the circle when the egg is barely balanced.

The round continues until all 10 people in your Game Group have had their chance to go around the circle and return their starting spots. The winner of the round is the first Game Group to have all of their members make a circle while balancing the egg on the spoon.

Let’s get ready to play ‘Barely Balanced!’ Everyone find a Game Group now!”
