Welcome / Video Intro
“Hello Motion and welcome to The Aetherlight: A Finders Adventure. This week we’re continuing our epic quest as we join The Finders and learn what it means to show courage. Speaking of courage, let’s take a look at the screen and check out what courage is.
Courage: Taking the fist step, even when something is difficult.
That’s right, Motion! Even when things are difficult, we shouldn’t be afraid to do what God’s called us to do and take the next step. Last week we saw Alex get pulled into the world of Aethasia and was immediately face to face with a robot that had a gigantic canon pointed right at him. What’s going to happen next? Check out the screen as we watch episode two of The Aetherlight: A Finders Adventure!”
The Aetherlight Episode 2
“What an awesome episode! Alex has met members of the Resistance and it looks like he’s decided to find courage and help the world of Aethasia. Make sure you’re here next week as we continue our adventure!
Now, it’s time for us to circle around our eGroup leaders and answer a few questions about the episode we just watched as well as today’s Bible story. Circle around your eGroup leaders now!
(give kids time to circle around eGroup leaders)
First question: What reasons did Alex have to join the Resistance? Discuss that now.
(give kids one minute to answer the question)
Second question: When was the last time you had to make a difficult decision? What did you have to decide? Discuss that now.
(give kids two minutes to answer the question)
Now Motion, it’s time for our final question: How can you help a friend make a difficult decision this week? What can you say to them to give them courage? Discuss that with your eGroup now.”
(give kids two minutes to answer the question)
“Great job, everybody! I heard some incredible answers coming from your eGroups today. One of the ways that we can show courage is to sing songs reminding us of the things God has done for us. Let’s show courage now by standing to our feet and getting ready to clap and dance as we sing, ‘Alive!’”
Worship Song – Alive
Worship Song – Undefeated
Dismissal To eGroups
“Great job, Motion! Everybody stay standing because it’s time for us to head back to our eGroups. When I call your eGroup leaders’ name, you can follow them back.”

Game Setup – Escape From The Mine
“Now Motion, it’s time for today’s game.
In today’s episode of The Aetherlight, Alex and Emily had to run away from Overseer Grimm and his army of Automatons. In today’s game, we’re going to have to run away as well, but in order to make it out of the mines, you’re going to have to follow my commands. Let’s practice the commands now!
RUN! – You’ll run in place trying to outrun those Automatons.
HIDE! – You’ll immediately drop to the floor and curl up in a ball.
DUCK! – You’ll bend halfway down and freeze in place.
SCATTER! – Everyone will need to move around the room and find a new place to stand!
But, if you’re moving when it’s time to DUCK or HIDE, you’ve been caught and will be sent to jail. The only way to get out of jail is to have someone tag you when I yell SCATTER!
Everyone spread out across the room, make sure you’ve got enough room around you to play ESCAPE FROM THE MINES!
Game – Escape From The Mine
“Motion, you did an amazing job today, and I’m so glad you were here for the first week of our new adventure. Make sure you’re here next week as we continue to follow Alex through his journey in this new world.
As your parents begin to arrive, take a few minutes and trade cards with your friends and see if you can start making progress towards earning a Bring It! Challenge prize!”
