Welcome / Video Intro
“Hello Motion and welcome to our series Rise Above! This month we’ll be learning what it takes to Rise Above the negative voices you might hear. This month we’ll follow a student named Daniel who will learn to hear God’s voice above all others.
Now, before we take a look at the screen, when I say ‘Rise Above,’ you say ‘Boxing Glove!’
(encourage kids to respond)
Great job! Now, check out the screen for the first episode of Rise Above.
Rise Above Episode 1
“What an awesome episode of Rise Above! Daniel was able to remember that no matter what, God says we’re His. He created us, He loves us, and He calls us His sons and daughters! Even when we’re feeling insecure, God says we’re His!
Now, let’s answer a few questions about today’s Bible story and how God has called us, just like He called Moses. Circle around your eGroup leaders now!
(give kids time to circle around eGroup leaders)
First question: What did God ask Moses to do? Discuss that now.
(give kids one minute to answer the question)
Second question: Moses didn’t think he could do what God had asked him to do. Have you ever felt like you couldn’t do something before? Discuss that now.
(give kids two minutes to answer the question)
Now Motion, it’s time for our final question: When you feel insecure, how can you remind yourself that you being to God? What ca you say to yourself? Discuss that with your eGroup now.”
(give kids two minutes to answer the question)
“Great job, everybody! I heard some incredible answers coming from your eGroups today. One of the ways that we can Rise Above the negative voices we hear is to sing worship songs and remind ourselves of the great things God has done. Stand to your feet as we sing, ‘Unstoppable God!’”
Worship Song – Unstoppable God
Worship Song – Dance
Dismissal To eGroups
“Great job, Motion! Everybody stay standing because it’s time for us to head back to our eGroups. When I call your eGroup leaders’ name, you can follow them back.”
(dismiss kids back to eGroups)
“Welcome back from your eGroups! Before we continue, I wanted to take a moment and welcome some very special guests who came to visit us for the first time. Motion, help me welcome our VIPs!
If it’s your first time here, we consider you a VIP – a very important person! VIPs, turn your attention to the screen because I’ve got some special instructions just for you.
(refer to the screen)
This is a VIP lanyard. If you’re a VIP, you’re wearing this around your neck right now.
[VIP Slide – Lanyard]
When you leave Motion, you need to take that lanyard to the __________ tent called the Welcome Area.
[VIP Slide – Welcome Area]
Once you get to the Welcome Area, show them your lanyard and they will give you a gift!
[VIP Slide – Gift]
[VIP Slide – All Combined]
VIP Lanyard + Welcome Area = Gift.
If you have any questions about where to go or what to do, just ask someone in a blue eKidz shirt and we’ll be more than happy to help you out!”
Bring It! Challenge Setup
“Now it’s time for us to clean up these game materials and get ready for our Bring It! Challenge.
During this month’s Bring It! Challenge, you’ll need to do the following things to receive a prize:
- FIND one of our memory verses in your Bible and show it to your eGroup leader
2. RECITE one of the memory verses in the series.
Ok, so let’s recap. To earn your prize, you’ll need to FIND this month’s verse, RECITE the verse to your eGroup leader, and SAY the virtue for this month. Circle around your eGroup leaders and let’s work on that now!”
Bring It! Challenge
Game Setup – Shadowboxer
“During this month we’ll be playing games showcasing some boxing moves and what better way to start than by playing one of our most famous called Shadowboxer. In this game, you’ll see punches coming from all over the screen. While holding the boxing profile you brought from your eGroups, you’ll need to duck and dodge out of the way to avoid the hits coming your way.
If you see a punch coming from the left or right, you and your boxing profile will need to dodge in the opposite direction. If you see a foot coming from the bottom of the screen, you’ll have to jump over it. If you see a karate chop coming from the top of the screen, you and your boxing profile will have to duck under it.
Follow along with the warm up round on the screen and then when we’re done with that, we’ll play for real! Hold up your boxing profiles and let’s check out the screen.
(do the video warm up with the kids)
Great job, Motion! Now, it’s time for us to play for real! I’ll perform the same moves you saw on the screen and you’ll need to dodge them the same way. However, if you’re too slow or you perform the wrong moves, our theater volunteers and eGroup leaders are going to send you outside of the ring for a few rounds.
Make sure you keep up! Here we go!”
