WELCOME

“Welcome to Motion! I’m so excited you’re here and I know that all of you are having an awesome summer. All this summer we’ve been learning about confidence and how we can become confident even in the most extreme circumstances. But what is confidence? Let’s find out together!

Confidence: Living like you believe what God says is true.

Now Motion, we’re going to learn how God wants us to live our lives to their fullest potential and how we can live confidently for Him, even while we’re doing something crazy, like extreme sports. Check out the screen!”

Connect Questions Intro

“When Jesus is with you, you can face anything. Jesus was right there with Peter and John as they healed the man who couldn’t walk, as they shared His story with the people, and as they bravely faced the religious leaders. Jesus is with YOU, too. When you know that He’s right by your side, there’s NOTHING you can’t face.

Now, it’s time for us to answer a few questions about today’s Bible story and the video we just watched. Circle around your eGroup leaders now!

First question: What did Peter and John mean when they said that Jesus was with them? Did they mean Jesus was actually standing there, or did they mean something else? Discuss that now.

(give kids one minute to answer the question)

Next question: Have you ever got in trouble for telling the truth? If you have, tell about that now.

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Last question: How can you have confidence when you tell the truth? Who gives you that confidence?”

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Worship Intro

“Wow, you really had some great answers today! It’s so good to be able to sing praises to Jesus today. We can be confident that He has done great things, and that He’ll always be with us. Let’s sing, dance, clap our hands, and praise God as we sing, ‘Louder.’”

BRING IT! CHALLENGE SETUP

“Now Motion, it’s time for the Bring It! Challenge!

During this month’s Bring It! Challenge, you’ll need to do the following three things to receive a prize. Check out the screen.

(watch the Bring It! Challenge video)

That’s right, Motion! To receive your Bring It! prize, you’ll need to:

FIND Philippians 1:6 in your Bible and show it to your eGroup leader.

RECITE the verse for this series, Philippians 1:6, from memory.

SAY our virtue for this series from memory. In fact, that’s on the screen now, too!

(say the virtue again with the kids)

Confidence: Living like you believe what God says is true.

Ok, so let’s recap. To earn your prize, you’ll need to FIND this month’s verse, RECITE the verse to your eGroup leader, and SAY the virtue for this month. Take a look at the screen and you can see the prizes now!

(refer to the prize slide)

Circle around your eGroup leaders and let’s complete the Bring It! Challenge!”

Game Setup – Beach Ballin’

“Great job during the Bring It! Challenge, Motion! Make sure you’re bringing your Bibles and learning your memory verse and virtue! Now Motion, it’s time for today’s game.

In this game we’re going to split the room in half and then have you sit down with the two teams facing each other. Then, we’re going to put TEN beach balls into play and the two halves of the room are going to hit the balls back and forth to each other.

Now, if you’ve never played beach volleyball before, the way the players hit the ball is with their two palms facing away from their body and you strike the ball making a pushing motion away from you, like this.

(make a pushing motion, like you were hitting a volleyball away from you)

Now one of the ways we’re going to keep everyone safe in this game is by having you play this game while seated. If we think you’re being too rough with this game, I or another leader in the room may ask you to step the side and sit out for a round. We want you to play the game, but I also want to make sure you’re not crawling over anybody else in front or behind you.

Let’s take 30 seconds and divide you all into two equal teams and once you’re divided into teams, I’ll have you sit down facing the other team. Let’s get divided up now!

(Take 30 seconds and divide the kids into two teams. Have the teams take a seat facing the opposition.)

Now that you’re all divided into your teams, we’ll play the game for 30 seconds and the team that has the least amount of beach balls on their side of the room when the game ends wins.

Let’s play ‘Beach Ballin!”’
