Series Intro

“Motion, thanks for worshipping today! Everybody can have a seat.

(wait for kids to be seated)

Today we start a brand new adventure as we follow one of our friends, Ollie Rollins, as he spends the summer at his aunt and uncle’s house on the lake. While that may sound awesome, Ollie’s not so sure. Let’s find out what happens in the first episode of Overboard!”

Video Outro / Dismissal to eGroups

“Motion, I can’t wait to see what Ollie’s going to do next. I think this Nigel character is going to have a lot to teach Ollie about what it means to have an  attitude of gratitude, which is exactly what you’ll be learning about in your eGroups today.

When I call your eGroup leaders’ name, you can follow them back to your eGroups.”

(Use the Motion eGroup Leader sheet to call eGroup leaders’ names and dismiss kids.)

Wake Or Wipeout Game Setup

“Welcome back from your eGroups, Motion! During Overboard, we’ll be hanging out on the lake and whenever you’re on the lake, I bet you can find someone who’s either tubing, wake boarding, or water skiing. In our first game today we’re going to take a look at people who are doing some water sports and after the video freezes, you’ll have to figure out if the people in the video will ride the wake or wipeout in our game called Wake or Wipeout.

I’m going to give each eGroup leader a whiteboard and marker. You’ll huddle around your eGroup leader and I’ll show you a video which will freeze after a few seconds. You’ll have to decide whether the person will wake or wipeout. Your leader will write your teams answer on the board and hold it up. The team who gets it correct will earn 100 points.

Let’s pass out the whiteboard and markers and we’ll get started!”

VIP Welcome

“Great job, Motion! Let’s collect the whiteboard from eGroup leaders.

(collect whiteboards and markers)

Before we go any further, I want to take a moment and welcome our VIPs. You’re a VIP if it’s your first time in eKidz and we’re so glad you’re here. Motion, help me welcome our VIPs!

(initiate applause)

If you’re a VIP, I’ve got some special instructions for you. Check out the screen!

This is a VIP lanyard.

[VIP Slide – Lanyard]

When you leave Motion, you need to take that lanyard to the Orange Tent.

[VIP Slide – Welcome Area]

Once you get to the Orange Tent, show them your lanyard and they will give you a gift!

[VIP Slide – Gift]

Let’s review.

[VIP Slide – All Combined]

VIP Lanyard + Orange Tent = Gift.

If you have any questions, just ask someone in a blue eKidz shirt! We’re all here to make sure you have an awesome time.”

Game Setup –  McDouble Twist Skippy

“Our new series Overboard is going to show wakeboarders who are amazing at pulling off tricks and jumping off the wakes of the boats they travel behind. Doing tricks like flips or twists or board grabs is always the most exciting part about seeing someone wakeboard. Motion, who here loves doing tricks, whether you’re on a wakeboard, a spooner board, a skateboard, or a bike?

(wait for response)

I love watching videos of people pulling of cool tricks like a 540 flip or a 1080 McTwist. I’m wondering if I gave you the name of a cool trick, if you’d be able to show me what the trick looks like. Take a look at the screen!”

*Host will call one kid from each eGroup on stage to perform every round. The host will call the name of a fake trick and one by one, the kids on stage will perform what they think the trick would look like. After each kid has done their move, the host will ask the crowd which kid performed the trick best. The kid who did the trick the best wins that round an their eGroup wins 100 points. Hosts will ultimately decide who the winner of the points is. The team that has the most points at the end of the game wins.*

Memory Verse Review

“Great job everybody! You can all have a seat.

(instruct kids to be seated)

Right now we’re going to work together to start memorizing our memory verse for Overboard. Take a look at the screen and say the memory verse with me.

(say the memory verse with the kids)

Ok, now just the girls say it!

(say the memory verse with the girls)

Ok boys, your turn!

(say the memory verse with the boys)

Great job everybody! Make sure you’re practicing your memory verse throughout Overboard to earn reward points towards the Bring It! Challenge!”

Dismissal Activity Setup

“Motion, before your parents come, we’ve got one more fun activity.

Before anybody become a wakeboard champion, they need to improve their balance and start building muscles to help pull off cool tricks. Kids who learn wakeboarding use lots of fun types of boards to help build their balance and during Overboard, we’ll be working with one of those boards to help you build balance and show off some cool moves.

In our final game, we’re going to test your team’s ability to pull off some sweet moves on a spooner board. We’re going to divide the room into 2 teams. Today we’ll be playing boys versus girls. I’ll call one person from each team to come up and complete a trick you’ll see on the screen. If you can complete the move, I’ll award your team a point. The team with the most points at the end wins the game.

Let’s divide into our two groups and get ready to play!”

(kids will divide into two groups and host will call one person from each team to come and compete during the round)
