Team Time Game

That’s because this week kicks off one of the biggest weeks of the year for our church. You see, this week is the beginning of Love Week, a time where our church works together to make lives better for people all around the world. During this year’s Love Week, we’ll be working with a special partner called Promising Pages who works hard to bring books to kids who may not be able to get them easily. Today, we’re going to kick off Love Week by playing a fun game that will help you understand how we’re going to get these books to the kids. Check out this video!

*Kids will each have a bag filled with books. The first kid in each line must balance a book on their head and walk to the bookshelf across the room. If the kid drops the book on the floor, they must pick it back up and balance it on their before they continue. After the kid drops the book off at the bookshelf, they’ll return to their cabin, tag the next person in line and send them with a book on their head to the bookshelf. The round continues until one cabin’s bag is empty and the last kid returns to their line. The team that finishes first wins the round, the team that wins the most rounds wins the game.*

Award Ceremony

“Camp time is almost over, but every day at camp we give out awards for campers and teams who have been working hard at camp. Our first award is the team award, which rewards the team with the highest total team score. Teams earned points based on how many team members brought their Bible, how many team members said their memory verse, and who won the Team Time games.

Motion, give me a drumroll as I get ready to announce the winner of today’s Cabin Award!

(initiate drumroll)

The winner is the ______ team! Motion, put your hands together and let’s congratulate the _______ team. Grab your flag and wave it around!

(hand out prizes from the Bug Bin)

I’m also giving an award to the camp counselor who showed the most spirit today. If you think your leader should win this award, I want you to scream as loud as you can on the count of three. One, two, three!

(encourage kids to yell loudly)

Ok, Motion, the Spirit Award goes to ______ of the ______ cabin! Everyone, let’s all give counselor ________ a hand!

(initiate applause)

And last, but not least, I want to give an award to one kid in particular who showed great leadership throughout the day. At Camp Wannastay, we want to honor kids who act like leaders, just like in the Bible stories we’re learning from. Motion, give a big round of applause to _________!”

(initiate applause)

Love Week Pastor Video

“Hey, everybody did an incredible job throughout Camp Wannastay and just because our time at Camp is coming to an end doesn’t mean that we stop being leaders. Like I said earlier, Love Week is happening this week and we’re so excited to serve the people of our community and around the world. In fact, I wanted to invite the Family Pastor of Elevation Church, Pastor Frank, to come and talk to us about how great this Love Week is going to be. Motion, but your hands together and help me welcome Pastor Frank!”

(initiate applause, walk off stage)

Now I want all of you to be here next week and make sure you bring a bracelet from each of the places you serve this week. If you’re wearing the bracelets when you come back, you’ll receive an awesome prize as our way of saying ‘Thank You and you’re awesome!’

Parent Pickup / Camp Bingo

“Now campers, before your parents pick you up from Camp Wannastay, we’re going to play a camp favorite – Bingo! Each of you will receive a Bingo board along with Bingo chips. I’ll be at the front of the stage calling out letters and numbers. If you have the letters and numbers I call out, slide the shutter closed over the appropriate space. As I call out numbers and letters, we’ll show which ones have been called by putting an mark over them on the screen.

If you get 5 chips in a row in any direction, yell out BINGO! and a counselor will come around to check out your board. We’ll keep track of which numbers and letters we’ If you’ve won the round, you’ll get to choose a prize from the Bug Bin! Let’s pass out the boards and chips and we’ll get ready to play Camp Bingo!”
