KID CONNECT

WHAT IS KID CONNECT?
Kid Connect is all about eGROUP CONNECTIONS: for you to make connections with the kids and for the kids to make connections with each other. Activities are listed in the order they are to be completed. It’s okay if you don’t complete all the activities – some activities will work better for your group than others. Begin Kid Connect when doors open. KID CONNECT ENDS WHEN THE WORSHIP EXPERIENCE BEGINS.

Words in italics, whether on lessons or in handouts, are meant to be said out loud to your group.  Anything not in italics is an instruction that does not necessarily need to be read aloud.

SNACK ACTIVITY

ASK: While we played the Goody Goody Gumdrops game, what did Kit promise us? ALLOW children to respond. SAY: Kit promised us yummy candy if we won the game and I BELIEVE each of you can do some really fun things with your candy … let’s see what you can do!

GIVE
each child a pack of M&M’s and a napkin. HELP children open their M&M’s and place the M&M’s on the napkin. ENCOURAGE children to not eat their snack yet. SAY: I BELIEVE I can balance one M&M on the tip of each of my fingers. LAY your hand flat with your palm facing up and PUT one M&M on the tip of each finger.

SAY:
I BELIEVE you can do it, too! Try and balance one M&M on each finger. ENCOURAGE children to COMPLETE the action. SAY: Great job! I believed you could do it! Everyone can eat one M&M.

CONTINUE
for the remaining I BELIEVE statements: SAY: I BELIEVE I can balance four M&M’s on the back of my hand in a square shape. DEMONSTRATE the action.

SAY
: I BELIEVE you can do it, too! Try and make an M&M square on the back of your hand. ENCOURAGE children to COMPLETE the action. SAY: Great job! I believed you could do it! Everyone can eat one M&M.

SAY:
BELIEVE I can balance three M&M’s on my face. DEMONSTRATE by leaning your head back and PLACING an M&M on your forehead and one on each cheek. SAY: I BELIEVE you can do it, too! Try and balance three M&M’s on your face. ENCOURAGE children to COMPLETE the action. SAY: You did it! I believed you could. Now everyone can eat one M&M.

SAY:
Here’s a tricky one. I BELIEVE i can stack one M&M on top of the other. LAY one M&M on the napkin and balance another M&M on top of it. SAY: I BELIEVE you can do that, too! Try to stack your M&M’s, just like mine. ENCOURAGE children to stack their M&M’s. SAY: That was hard, but I believed you could do it! Let’s eat another M&M.

SAY:
This is the last one. I BELIEVE I can balance this M&M on the tip of my tongue for three seconds. PUT an M&M on the top of your tongue, COUNT to three with your fingers, then EAT the M&M. SAY: BELIEVE you can do that, too! Try and balance and M&M on the tip of your tongue for three seconds before eating it. ENCOURAGE children to COMPLETE the action. SAY: Great job everyone!

SAY:
I BELIEVED we could do some silly things with our M&M’s. But I BELIEVE ALL the promises God makes to us in His Word. Let’s pray and thank God for all His promises before eating our snack.

ENCOURAGE
children to BOW their heads, CLOSE their eyes, and REPEAT the prayer after you. EAT the snack and clean up the eGroup area.
