(Neighbor comes on stage, waving at the children.)

NEIGHBOR: Hi everyone! Welcome to Wonder! Clubhouse. It’s where I like to hang out with my friends in our neighborhood and learn about everything God created. God created   everything we see, and He created YOU and ME!

NEIGHBOR: My name is _________ (your name) and I can’t wait to see what new things we learn about at Wonder! Clubhouse today. We’re going to make discoveries and learn about how God created us to SERVE.

NEIGHBOR: When we serve, we are doing things to help other people. When we serve    others, we’re also serving Jesus! This week is Love Week at our church, where we’ll all spend some extra time serving our community. It’s fun to come together to serve during Love Week, and if you serve today after church, you get a special Love Week shirt to get signatures on!

NEIGHBOR: Now everyone point to me!

(Allow children to point at you. Point at yourself by bringing both thumbs to your chest.)

NEIGHBOR: Did you know God created me to serve?

(Allow children to respond.)

NEIGHBOR: He sure did! Now everyone point to a neighbor next to you!

(Allow children to point at a neighbor near them.)

NEIGHBOR: Did you know God created your neighbor to serve?

(Allow children to respond.)

NEIGHBOR: He sure did! Now everyone point to yourself by bringing both thumbs to your chest. (Demonstrate by pointing at yourself and bring your thumbs to your chest.)

NEIGHBOR: Best of all, God created YOU to serve! God is so amazing! Repeat what we are learning about today:

God made me (point up)
(Allow time for children to repeat.)
to serve! (extend hands forward)
(Allow time for children to repeat.)

NEIGHBOR: Great job, everyone! God created lots of things on days 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5! And on day 6 He created people – that’s us! (Points out to children.) Let’s stand up and sing a song to praise God for creating everything, and especially creating us to serve!

Song: SEVEN [2:31]

NEIGHBOR: That was so much fun! I love singing about all the things God created in (use your fingers to count) 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 days! Everyone can jump up high then sit back down criss cross applesauce!

(Allow children to jump up high and then encourage them to sit down criss cross applesauce.)

NEIGHBOR: Let’s learn more about how God created us to serve by reading a Bible story together. While I’m reading the story, you can look at the pictures on the screen. Listen closely, friends!

(Neighbor reads the text from the Bible story card as children look at the corresponding slides on the video screen. Make sure to read the story with inflection so children stay engaged in the story.)

NEIGHBOR: Then He said, “When I was thirsty, you gave me something to drink.”

VIDEO: Slide 3 – House

Remember, Think, Follow [1:45]

SLIDE: WCLU Campus Screen Graphic

NEIGHBOR: That was so much fun! I love seeing all of our Quest friends worshiping God    together. Everyone spin in a circle and then sit down criss cross applesauce!

(Allow children to spin in a circle and encourage them to sit down.)

NEIGHBOR: Now it’s time for us to remember (hold hands like a book) our Bible story, think (point to head) about the good things from our story, and follow (march in place) the example set by the people in the Bible story.

NEIGHBOR: In order to remember what was in our Bible story today, we need to be quiet and listen. Can we think about what we learned in our Bible story if we are talking to our friends?

(Allow children to say, “No!”)

NEIGHBOR: That’s right! In order to remember our Bible story, we also need to sit down criss cross applause! Can we think about what we learned in our Bible story if we are standing up and running around the room?

(Allow children to say, “No!”)

NEIGHBOR: You got it! I know we can remember, think, and follow the example in our Bible story by following these rules!

NEIGHBOR: Now that all of our friends are ready, let’s remember, think, and follow!

SLIDE: WCAA Remember WK5

NEIGHBOR: First let’s REMEMBER (hold hands like a book) … Did people in the Bible story serve others or only themselves?(Allow time for children to answer – “Others!”)

NEIGHBOR: Yes, they served others!

SLIDE: WCAA Think WK5

NEIGHBOR: Now, let’s THINK (point to head) about our Bible story. When the people served others, who did they also serve?

(Allow time for children to answer – “Jesus!”)

NEIGHBOR: Yes, they served Jesus, too!

SLIDE: WCAA Follow WK5

NEIGHBOR: Now, let’s say how can we FOLLOW (march in place) the example set in our Bible story. Can we serve the people around us and show God we love Him?

(Allow time for children to answer – “Yes!”)

NEIGHBOR: That’s right! We can all serve and show God we love Him by serving!

DISMSSAL [0:30]

SLIDE: WCLU Campus Screen Graphic

NEIGHBOR: And guess what? Today you have the chance to serve and help others! After Quest is over, you can serve with your family right here at church. Raise your hand if you are going to stay after church and serve!

(Allow children to raise their hands.)

NEIGHBOR: That’s great! Don’t forget – if you serve today or the rest of the week during Love Week, you will get a fun shirt to wear. On the back of the shirt, you can collect signatures each time you serve. If you get at least three signatures on your shirt, you can bring it back next week to get a prize!

NEIGHBOR: I’m so glad God created you and I to serve! Have fun serving during Love Week, neighbors!

(Waves to children as he/she walks off stage.)
