(Neighbor comes on stage, waving at the children.)

NEIGHBOR: Hi everyone! I’m so glad you’re hanging out in our neighborhood today. We’re having so much fun at Wonder! Clubhouse and I can’t wait to see what new friends we’ll meet today. My name is _________ (your name) and I definitely want to be friends with each and every one of YOU! Do you want to be friends with me, too?

(Allow children to respond, “Yes!”)

NEIGHBOR: Wahoo! Friends take care of one another, help one another, and praise God    together! God gave us a very precious gift when He gave us the gift of friendship. I want everyone to turn to someone next to you and say, “Hello, friend!”

(Allow children to say, “Hello, friend” to someone sitting hear them.)

NEIGHBOR: Friends are fun and I’m so thankful God gives us friends! Today at Wonder! Clubhouse, we’re learning, “God gives me good friends so we can help each other!” Repeat that after me:

God gives me (thumbs to chest)
(Allow time for children to repeat.)
good friends (two thumbs up)
(Allow time for children to repeat.)
so we can help each other! (spread arms wide)
(Allow time for children to repeat.)

NEIGHBOR: Great job, everyone! One way friends can help each other is by showing one another how to worship God. Let’s all stand up and worship God together with our friends!

Memory Verse Review[1:45]

SLIDE: WCLU Campus Screen Graphic

NEIGHBOR: That was so much fun! I love seeing all of our Quest friends worshiping God    together. Everyone turn to a friend, give them a high five, and then have a seat!

(Allow children to give their neighbor a high five and encourage them to sit down.)

NEIGHBOR: This month we’re learning about friendship. If you have a friend, raise two hands in the air and wave them around!

(Allow children to raise their hands and wave them around.)

NEIGHBOR: Wow! That’s a LOT of friends. Since you all have friends, then you know what a friend acts like. Now tell me, do friends say nice things to each other?

(Allow children to say, “Yes!”)

NEIGHBOR: They sure do! Does a friend let you go down the slide first at the pool?

(Allow children to say, “Yes!”)

NEIGHBOR: That’s right! Does a friend help you clean up your room after you play together?

(Allow children to say, “Yes!”)

NEIGHBOR: That’s great! You all have some very good friends. And the Bible tells us how YOU and I can be good friends, too!

SLIDE: WCBT Memory Verse

1 Thessalonians 5:11 (open hands like a book)

NEIGHBOR: We can be good friends by being nice to others and saying kind things to the people around us. No matter what, we should always do what the Bible says and build each other up by being good friends!

NEIGHBOR: We are learning this Bible verse so we can remember what God says about being a good friend! Repeat after me.

Therefore (point out)
(Allow children to repeat.)

Main Point Review [0:45]

(Neighbor stands up.)

NEIGHBOR: What a great time at Wonder! Clubhouse! Did you have fun with our neighbor, Madi? Because I sure did! Ollie came to visit the Clubhouse and helped us learn,

God gives me (thumbs to chest)
good friends (two thumbs up)
so we can help each other! (spread arms wide)

NEIGHBOR: We heard a story from our neighbor, Justin. Do you remember the story? Jonathan helped David run away from mean King Saul. Because Jonathan helped David, David told Jonathan he would take care of his family for the rest of his life! After a lot of years,  David became king! After Jonathan died, David remembered his promise to take care of Jonathan’s family, so he sent someone to find Jonathan’s son named Mephibosheth [meh-FIB-o-sheth]. David helped his friend Jonathan by taking care os his son! And just like David helped his friend, God gives us friends to help, too! Repeat what we are learning today after me:

SLIDE: MNEI Campus Screen Graphic

NEIGHBOR: That was so much fun! I love seeing all of our Quest friends worshiping God    together. Everyone turn to a friend, give them a high five, and then have a seat!

(Allow children to give their neighbor a high five and encourage them to sit down.)

NEIGHBOR: Now it’s time for us to remember (hold hands like a book) our Bible story, think (point to head) about the good things from our story, and follow (march in place) the example set by the people in the Bible story.

NEIGHBOR: In order to remember what was in our Bible story today, we need to be quiet and listen. Can we think about what we learned in our Bible story if we are talking to our friends?

(Allow children to say, “No!”)

NEIGHBOR: That’s right! In order to remember our Bible story, we also need to sit down criss cross applause! Can we think about what we learned in our Bible story if we are standing up and running around the room?

(Allow children to say, “No!”)

NEIGHBOR: You got it! I know we can remember, think, follow the example in our Bible story by following these rules!

NEIGHBOR: Now that all of our friends are ready, let’s remember, think, and follow!

SLIDE: WCBT Remember  Wk3

NEIGHBOR: First let’s REMEMBER (hold hands like a book) … Whose   family did David promise to take care of for the rest of his life?

(Allow time for children to answer – “Jonathan’s.”)

NEIGHBOR: You got it!

SLIDE: WCBT Think WK3

NEIGHBOR: Now, let’s THINK (point to head) about the good things from our Bible story. Did David help Jonathan’s son or daughter?

(Allow time for children to answer – “Son!”)

NEIGHBOR: Yes, he helped David’s son Mephibosheth [meh-FIB-o-sheth].

SLIDE: WCBT Follow WK 3

NEIGHBOR: Now, let’s say how can we FOLLOW (march in place) the example set in our Bible story. Can we follow David’s example by     helping our friends?

(Allow time for children to answer – “Yes!”)

NEIGHBOR: That’s right! If you can help the friends God gives you, give a high five to a friend  sitting near you!

(Allow children to high five a friend.)
