(Neighbor comes on stage, waving at the children.)

NEIGHBOR: Hi everyone! I’m so glad you’re hanging out in our neighborhood today. We’re having so much fun at Wonder! Clubhouse and I can’t wait to see what new friends we’ll meet today. My name is _________ (your name) and I definitely want to be friends with each and every one of YOU! Do you want to be friends with me, too?

(Allow children to respond, “Yes!”)

NEIGHBOR: Wahoo! Friends take care of one another, help one another, and praise God    together! God gave us a very precious gift when He gave us the gift of friendship. I want everyone to turn to someone next to you and say, “Hey, friend!”

(Allow children to say, “Hey, friend!” to someone sitting hear them.)

NEIGHBOR: Friends are fun and I’m so thankful God gives us friends! Today at Wonder! Clubhouse we’re learning, “God gives me good friends so we can praise God together!”  Repeat that after me:

God gives me (thumbs to chest)
(Allow time for children to repeat.)
good friends (two thumbs up)
(Allow time for children to repeat.)
so we can praise God together! (wave arms back and forth)
(Allow time for children to repeat.)

NEIGHBOR: Great job, everyone! If there’s one thing I know my Quest friends love to do  together, it’s praise God! Let’s all stand up and praise God together!

Memory Verse Review[1:45]

SLIDE: WCLU Campus Screen Graphic

NEIGHBOR: That was so much fun! I love seeing all of our Quest friends praising God together. Everyone spin in a circle, high five a friend, and have a seat!

(Allow children to spin in a circle, give a friend a high five, and encourage them to sit down.)

NEIGHBOR: This month we’re learning about friendship. If you have a friend, raise two hands in the air and wave them around!

(Allow children to raise their hands and wave them around.)

NEIGHBOR: Wow! That’s a LOT of friends. Since you all have friends, then you know what a friend acts like. Now tell me, does a friend help you do the right thing?

(Allow children to say, “Yes!”)

NEIGHBOR: They sure do! Does a friend worship God with you at church?

(Allow children to say, “Yes!”)

NEIGHBOR: That’s right! Does a friend let you go first when you’re playing a game together?

(Allow children to say, “Yes!”)

NEIGHBOR: That’s great! You all have some very good friends. And the Bible tells us how YOU and I can be good friends, too!

SLIDE: WCBT Memory Verse

Therefore (point out)
encourage one another (two thumbs up)
and build each other up. (push palms up to the sky)
1 Thessalonians 5:11 (open hands like a book)

NEIGHBOR: We can be good friends by being nice to others and saying kind things to the people around us. No matter what, we should always do what the Bible says and build each other up by being good friends!

NEIGHBOR: We are learning this Bible verse so we can remember what God says about being a good friend! Let’s say it together:

Therefore (point out)
encourage one another (two thumbs up)
and build each other up. (push palms up to the sky)
1 Thessalonians 5:11 (open hands like a book)

NEIGHBOR: Way to go! You’re doing a great job learning this Bible verse, and I know you’re becoming even better friends! Everyone turn to a friend sitting next to you and say, “You’re a good friend!”

(Allow children to turn to each other and say, “You’re a good friend!”)

NEIGHBOR: It’s time for us to head to Wonder! Clubhouse to check in with our neighbors. We’re going to have so much fun with our friends. Let’s go!

(Neighbor stands up.)

NEIGHBOR: What a great time at Wonder! Clubhouse! Did you have fun with our neighbor, Brooklyn? Because I sure did! Ollie came to visit the Clubhouse and helped us learn,

God gives me (thumbs to chest)
good friends (two thumbs up)
so we can praise God together! (wave arms back and forth)

NEIGHBOR: We heard a story from our neighbor, Justin. Do you remember the story? He shared a Bible story with us about King David. King David and his friends loved to dance and praise God! They were so full of love for God they liked to dance and play instruments to worship Him. Just like King David and his friends praised God, we can praise God, too! Repeat what we are learning today after me:

SLIDE: MNEI Campus Screen Graphic

NEIGHBOR: That was so much fun! I love seeing all of our Quest friends praising God together. Everyone spin in a circle, high five a friend, and have a seat!

(Allow children to spin in a circle, give a friend a high five, and encourage them to sit down.)

NEIGHBOR: Now it’s time for us to remember (hold hands like a book) our Bible story, think (point to head) about the good things from our story, and follow (march in place) the example set by the people in the Bible story.

NEIGHBOR: To remember what was in our Bible story today, we need to be quiet and listen. Can we think about what we learned in our Bible story if we are talking to our friends?

(Allow children to say, “No!”)

NEIGHBOR: That’s right! To remember our Bible story, we also need to sit down criss cross applause! Can we think about what we learned in our Bible story if we are standing up and running around the room?

(Allow children to say, “No!”)

NEIGHBOR: You got it! I know we can remember, think, follow the example in our Bible story

by following these rules!

NEIGHBOR: Now that all of our friends are ready, let’s remember, think, and follow!

SLIDE: WCBT Remember  Wk4

NEIGHBOR: First let’s REMEMBER (hold hands like a book) … Who praised God with his friends by singing, dancing, and playing instruments?

(Allow time for children to answer – “King David.”)

NEIGHBOR: You got it!

SLIDE: WCBT Think WK4

NEIGHBOR: Now, let’s THINK (point to head) about the good things from our Bible story. Did David and his friends like to praise God alone or together?

(Allow time for children to answer – “Together!”)

NEIGHBOR: Yes, they liked to praise God together!

SLIDE: WCBT Follow WK 4

NEIGHBOR: Now, let’s say how can we FOLLOW (march in place) the example set in our Bible story. Can we follow King David’s example by     praising God with our friends?

(Allow time for children to answer – “Yes!”)

NEIGHBOR: That’s right! If you can praise God with your friends, give a high five to a friend  sitting near you!

(Allow children to high five a friend.)
