STORYTELLER: “Hello friends! Welcome to Quest and as you can see around me, it’s almost time for a Special Delivery! I’m so excited because Christmas is the time of year that God sent us Jesus, which is the most special delivery of all!”

STORYTELLER: “Whenever I ask you this very important question, ‘How do we know God loves us?’ I want you to say, ‘God gave us Jesus!’ Let’s try it. ‘How do we know God loves us?’

CHILDREN AND STORYTELLER: “God gave us Jesus!”

STORYTELLER: “Great job! Now it’s time for us to sing, dance, and thank God for sending us Jesus. Stand up and sing with me, friends!”

SONG: “Special Delivery”

Lead children in singing, “Special Delivery” with the hand motions.

SONG: “Away In A Manger”

Lead children in singing, “Away In A Manger” with the hand motions.

STORYTELLER: “Thanks for worshipping with me, friends. Before you have a seat, tell me, ‘How do we know God loves us?’

CHILDREN AND STORYTELLER: “God gave us Jesus!”

STORYTELLER: “That’s right! The Bible tells us God sent His son, Jesus. Let’s learn our memory verse this month so that we can remember what God has done. I’ll say the memory verse first, and then we’ll all say it together.

STORYTELLER: “‘God (point arms straight up) has given (extend hands forward) a son (pretend to rock a baby) to us.’ (point thumbs to chest) Isaiah 9:6” (open hands like a book)

STORYTELLER AND CHILDREN: “‘God (point arms straight up) has given (extend hands forward) a son (pretend to rock a baby) to us.’ (point thumbs to chest) Isaiah 9:6” (open hands like a book)

STORYTELLER: “Great job, friends! We’re going to say it again, but instead of saying it like normal, we’re going to pretend we’re sheep! That means we’re going to have to BAAAAAAA.

Now let’s say it together, just like sheep!”

STORYTELLER AND CHILDREN: “‘God (point arms straight up) has given (extend hands forward) a son (pretend to rock a baby) to us.’ (point thumbs to chest) Isaiah 9:6” (open hands like a book)

Say the memory verse with the kids while bleating like a sheep.

STORYTELLER: “Great job, friends! Let’s say it one more time, ‘How do we know God loves us?’

CHILDREN AND STORYTELLER: “God gave us Jesus!”

STORYTELLER: “Yes! That’s the truth, friends! Now why did I have you say the memory verse like a sheep? That’s because today’s Bible Story is about a special group of people who took care of some sheep out in the fields on the night Jesus was born. Let’s check in with the Wonder! Clubhouse and find out more!”

STORYTELLER: “Friends, I am so excited that the Angels told the shepherds that Jesus was born! It’s important because that means God’s gift of Jesus wasn’t just for Kings, Queens, or heroes. God sent His son Jesus for everybody, including you and me! It’s the most special delivery of all!

STORYTELLER: “Remind me again, ‘How do we know God loves us?’

CHILDREN AND STORYTELLER: “God gave us Jesus!”

STORYTELLER: “Yes! That’s the truth, friends. God sent the angels to tell the shepherds that Jesus was born, and that He came for everybody. Let’s all bow our heads and pray as we thank God for that special delivery!”

STORYTELLER: “Dear God, thank You for sending us Your son, Jesus, for all of us, including the shepherds in the fields. We love you and thank you. Amen.”

STORYTELLER: “Great listening today, friends! Before you leave today, I’ve been given a special delivery that will help you learn more about God’s great gift. Let me hand each of your leaders this special delivery and then I’ll send you back to

your eGroup.
