STORYTELLER: “Hello friends! Welcome to Quest and welcome to the Wonder! Clubhouse! This month we’re learning that, just like a map you can use on a trip, the Bible shows us the way wherever we go. It doesn’t matter if you’re in the car with your parents or if you’re on your own bicycle or tricycle! Hey, I’ve got an idea, I’m going to pretend like I’m riding around on my bicycle, just like this!”

Pretend to ride around on a bicycle by riding in circles and ringing an imaginary bell.

STORYTELLER: “Come on, friends! Let’s all ride around on our bikes and trikes! Make sure you ring your bell, too!”

Encourage kids to ride an imaginary bike around the room and ring the bell on the bike.

STORYTELLER: “Great job, friends! Well I’ve got good news, because just like a map can help you get places on your bike, the Bible can act as your map for life! When I say, ‘What tells you which way to go?’ you say ‘The Bible tells me which way to go!’ Let’s practice! ‘What tells you which way to go?’”

CHILDREN AND STORYTELLER: “The Bible tells me which way to go!”

STORYTELLER: “Great job! The Bible can show us which way to go and it’s where we can turn whenever we need a little direction in our lives. It can act like a compass, showing us which way we should turn when life gets hard. Right now, we’re going to sing a song thanking God for always showing us the way, wherever we go. Stand to your feet and let’s sing, ‘Show Me The Way!’”

SONG: “Show Me the Way”

Lead children in singing, “Show Me the Way,” with the hand motions.

SONG: “Take Care of Me”

Lead children in singing, “Take Care of Me,” with the hand motions.

STORYTELLER: “Thanks for worshipping with me, friends. Before you have a seat, tell me, ‘What tells you which way to go?’”

CHILDREN AND STORYTELLER: “The Bible tells me which way to go!”

STORYTELLER: “That’s right! The Bible tells you which way to go! That’s why it’s so important for us to know what God’s word, the Bible, says. Let’s see what the Bible has to say in this month’s memory verse. Listen carefully, because I’ll say it, then you’ll repeat it after me:

‘Show me the right path (circle hands around eyes) O Lord; (point up with pointer fingers) point out the road (point down with pointer fingers) for me to follow.’ (march in place) Psalm 25:4” (open hands like a book)

STORYTELLER, THEN CHILDREN: “‘Show me the right path (circle hands around eyes) O Lord; (point up with pointer fingers) point out the road (point down with pointer fingers) for me to follow.’ (march in place) Psalm 25:4” (open hands like a book)
Repeat the memory verse two more times and have kids repeat it.

STORYTELLER: “Great job, friends! Let’s say it one more time, ‘What tells you which way to go?’”

CHILDREN AND STORYTELLER: “The Bible tells me which way to go!”

STORYTELLER: “Yes! That’s the truth, friends! Now let’s check in with Ollie at Wonder! Clubhouse to learn more.”

STORYTELLER: “Wow! I love that the Bible can show us ways to help other people!”

STORYTELLER: “Remind me again, ‘What tells you which way to go?’”

CHILDREN AND STORYTELLER: “The Bible tells me which way to go!”

STORYTELLER: “Yes! That’s the truth, friends. Today we learned that the Bible tells us to look for ways to help others. Let’s bow our heads, close our eyes, and thank God for giving us the Bible.”

STORYTELLER: “Dear God, thank You for giving us the Bible and showing us so many amazing ways we can help those around us like our friends, neighbors, parents, or eGroup leaders. Help us love others the way you love us. We love you. Amen.”

STORYTELLER: “Now friends, before we head back to our eGroups, I wanted to make sure you new about an awesome way that we can help others. At the end of this month is a time we call Love Week,

Production will put a Love Week slide on the screen

and it’s a chance for us to go and help the people in our neighborhoods and our city! Over the next few weeks we’re going to give you more information about Love Week, but for now, just now that our whole church is going to be helping others, just like we learned to do in today’s Bible story.”

STORYTELLER: “Now friends, it’s time for us to head back to our eGroups where we’re going to learn more about how we can start looking for ways to help others…

In a loud but whispered tone.

…like Love Week!”
