STORYTELLER: “Hello friends! Welcome to Quest and welcome to the Wonder! Clubhouse! This month we’re… oh my goodness! This week there’s so much YELLOW in the room! It must be because this month we’re in a series called Colorific where we’re learning all about how God keeps His promises to us, just like He did when He sent a colorful rainbow.”

STORYTELLER: “On the count of three, I want you all to help me celebrate our series, Colorific! When I count to three, I want you to yell out one thing that’s yellow, just like our color of the day! Think about it for a second… what’s yellow? Are you ready? One, two, three!”

Respond to kids yelling out something that’s yellow.

STORYTELLER: “Great job, friends! All of the colors in the rainbow remind us of God’s AMAZING promises and that God always keeps the promises He makes. When I say, ‘Who keeps his promises?’ you say, ‘God keeps His promises!’ Let’s practice! ‘Who keeps his promises?’”

CHILDREN AND STORYTELLER: “God keeps His promises!”

STORYTELLER: “Great job! God always keep His promises to us, and that’s something we can celebrate! Let’s sing songs today thanking God for all of the promises He’s made to us. Let’s stand to our feet and sing, ‘Promises!’”

SONG: “Promises”

Lead children in singing, “Promises,” with the hand motions.

SONG: “Get Up”

Lead children in singing, “Get Up,” with the hand motions.

– PART 2 –

STORYTELLER: “Thanks for worshipping with me, friends. Before you have a seat, tell me, ‘Who keeps his promises?’”

CHILDREN AND STORYTELLER: “God keeps His promises!”

STORYTELLER: “That’s right! God keeps His promises! God made lots of promises to us and when we read His Word, the Bible, we can learn about all of the things He said. Our Bible verse for this month tells us we can trust that God will keep the promises He made. Listen to the Bible verse as I say it, then, you can say it after me with the hand motions. Listen carefully:

‘Trust the Lord (point both index fingers aright up in the air) with all (stretch your arms out wide) your heart.’ (bring both your hands over your heart) Proverbs 3:5” (open hands like a book)

STORYTELLER, THEN CHILDREN: “‘Trust the Lord (point both index fingers aright up in the air) with all (stretch your arms out wide) your heart.’ (bring both your hands over your heart) Proverbs 3:5” (open hands like a book)

Repeat the memory verse two more times and have kids repeat it after you.

STORYTELLER: “Great job, friends! Let’s say it one more time, ‘Who keeps his promises?’”

CHILDREN AND STORYTELLER: “God keeps His promises?”

STORYTELLER: “Yes! That’s the truth, friends! God keeps his promises and today we’re learning more about a husband and wife named Abraham and Sarah who were promised something by God, but it took a really long time to happen. But even though something maybe not happen RIGHT AWAY, God will always keep His promises. Abraham and Sarah saw that and learned that if God promises something, it’s definitely going to happen. Take a look at the screen and let’s check out what’s going on at the Wonder Clubhouse!”

– PART 3 –

STORYTELLER: “Wow! God promised Abraham and Sarah that one day the would have children. Even though it took a very long time to happen, God’s promise came true.”

STORYTELLER: “Remind me again, ‘Who keeps his promises?’”

CHILDREN AND STORYTELLER: “God keeps His promises!”

STORYTELLER: “Yes! That’s the truth, friends. Today we discovered when God makes us promises, He’ll always keep them, even if they take a long time. Let’s bow our heads, close our eyes, and thank God for promising to always be with us.”

STORYTELLER: “Dear God, thank You for Your awesome promises and thank You for keeping them, no matter what. We love You. Amen.”

STORYTELLER: “Now friends, it’s time for us to head back to our eGroups where you’re going to learn more about how God keeps his promises.”
