Camp Director Cricket (V.O.): Well, hello there campers! I’m Camp Director Cricket. Welcome to Camp Wannastay. I just love the outdoors and spending time at camp! I love it so much I wannastay everyday! Camp is my favorite because we get to play outside, learn about Jesus, and go on adventures. First let’s meet your camp counselor, Poncho! On the count of three can you all yell “Poncho?” 1, 2, 3!

(Allow kids to yell, “Poncho.”)

Poncho: (Walks onto stage, holding the walkie talkie in hand.) Wow, what a welcome! Thanks Camp Director Cricket, and thanks friends. I’m Poncho and I love Camp Wannastay! Just like Camp Director Cricket, I love to spend time outdoors and playing outside. But we have to always be on the lookout since there are lots of animals around camp. Sometimes I see our Quest animals around camp, but the animal I see most are bears. But not just any bear. I always see our friend Brownie Bear! Let’s go on a bear hunt together around camp to find Brownie Bear. During our bear hunt, I want you to do what I do and repeat after me. Now, let’s see what we can find.

We can’t go around it. (Shake head “No” and hold hands out to the side, palms up.)

Let’s climb up it. (Point up.)

(Poncho pretends to climb in place on stage, leading the children to do the same.)

Altogether now! Reach, reach, reach, reach.

And stop!

(Poncho freezes in place, and encourages the children to do the same.)

Poncho: We made it! That was so much fun! Great job, campers. Phew! (Pretends to wipe sweat from forehead.) I think it’s time for me to sit down and take a quick rest. (Poncho sits down on stage.) Hey, look! I see something moving right over there.
