(Neighbor comes on stage, wearing the canvas bag across his/her chest, waving at the children.)

NEIGHBOR: Hello, friends! My name is ______________ (your name) and I love living in my neighborhood. I have friends to play with and there’s always something going on at Wonder! Clubhouse.

NEIGHBOR: It’s February, which means it’s the month of love! (Place hands together to form a heart.) We spend this whole month giving people notes with hearts and telling them we love them. And you know what? There is someone who loves you SO much! It’s Jesus. When I say, “Who does Jesus love?” you say, “Jesus loves everyone!” Let’s try it. Who does Jesus love?”

(Allow time for children to answer – “Jesus loves everyone!”)

NEIGHBOR: Great job, neighbors! Today we’re learning, “Jesus loves everyone even though we’re different!” Repeat that after me:

Jesus (point up)

(Allow time for children to repeat.)

loves everyone (hug self)

(Allow time for children to repeat.)

even though we’re different! (high five a friend)

(Allow time for children to repeat.)

NEIGHBOR: You got it!

NEIGHBOR: Friends, I’m so glad you’re here today because this weekend is a very special time in our church. Today, Elevation Church is 10 years old! Today is Elevation Church’s birthday and we’re going to celebrate! We are going to use the heart clappers today to celebrate Elevation’s birthday, and also celebrate Jesus loving all of us! eGroup Leaders – go ahead and pass out heart clappers to all of our neighbors.

(Allow time for eGroup Leaders to pass out heart clappers to each child.)

NEIGHBOR: Let’s practice using our heart clappers. When I say, “CELEBRATE!” I want you to wave your heart clapper in the air and make lots of noise to celebrate. When I say, “STOP!” I want you to put your heart clapper in your lap and put your eyes on me! Ready? Let’s try it! 1, 2, 3 … “CELEBRATE!”

(Allow time for children to celebrate with their heart clappers.)

NEIGHBOR: STOP!

(Allow time for children to put their heart clappers in their lap and put their eyes on you.)

NEIGHBOR: Great job, everyone! Now that we know how to celebrate with our heart clappers, let’s all stand up and sing this song about how much Jesus loves us. Celebrate with me, friends!

Song: JESUS LOVES ME(ALWAYS) [2:34]
Video: Jesus Loves Me (Always)

(Neighbor dances around with the children, leading them in the hand motions to the song. Encourage children to use their heart clapper to celebrate as they worship.)

(Allow time for children to sit down and give their heart clappers to their eGroup Leader.)

NEIGHBOR: This month we’re going to learn about everyone Jesus loves. Who does Jesus love?”

(Allow time for children to answer – “Everyone!”)

NEIGHBOR: That’s right! Jesus loves everyone. And, because Jesus loves us SO much, we can love each other, too. The Bible says,

SLIDE: BOLO Memory Verse

Love each other (hug self)
as I (point up)
have loved you. (point out)
John 15:12 (open hands like a book)

NEIGHBOR: Just like Jesus loves you and me, we need to love our friends. Everyone turn to a friend next to you and give them a high five!

(Allow children to high five a friend.)

NEIGHBOR: Great job! We are going to learn this Bible verse so we can remember to love others just like Jesus loves us! Repeat after me.

Love each other (hug self)

as I (point up)

(Allow children to repeat.)
have loved you. (point out)

(Allow children to repeat.)

John 15:12 (open hands like a book)

NEIGHBOR: Way to go! You’re going to learn this Bible verse in no time!

NEIGHBOR: It’s time for us to head to Wonder! Clubhouse to check in with our friends. We’re going to have so much fun! Let’s go!

NEIGHBOR: What a great time at Wonder! Clubhouse! Did you have fun with our neighbor, Brooklyn? Because I sure did! While she was planning her Valentine’s Day party, she learned,

Jesus (point up)

loves everyone (hug self)

even though we’re different! (high five a friend)

NEIGHBOR: After hearing the Bible story from Naima [NY-ee-ma], we learned Jesus loved the woman at the well, even though she as different. Just like some of my neighbors today in Quest are wearing different clothes or have different colored hair, Jesus loves all of us! Neighbors, repeat what we are learning today after me:

NEIGHBOR: Great singing, neighbors! You can sit down and give your heart clappers to your eGroup Leaders to hold.

(Allow time for children to sit down and give their heart clappers to their eGroup Leader.)

NEIGHBOR: Now it’s time for us to remember (hold hands like a book) our Bible story, think (point to head) about the good things from our story, and follow (march in place) the example set by the people in the Bible story.

SLIDE: BOLO Remember WK1

NEIGHBOR: First let’s REMEMBER (hold hands like a book) … Who had been walking all day and was tired and thirsty?

(Allow time for children to answer – “Jesus.”)

NEIGHBOR: You got it!

SLIDE: BOLO Think WK2

NEIGHBOR: Now, let’s THINK (point to head) about the good things from our Bible story. How did Jesus show love to the woman?

(Allow time for children to answer – “He talked to her and asked for a drink of water.”)

NEIGHBOR: Yes, way to go!

SLIDE: BOLO Follow WK1

NEIGHBOR: Now, let’s say how can we FOLLOW (march in place) the example set in our Bible story. How can we follow Jesus’ example?

(Allow time for children to answer – “We can love everyone!”)

NEIGHBOR: That’s right! If you can follow the example in our Bible story and love everyone, turn to your neighbor and give them another high five!

(Allow children to high five a friend.)

DISMSSAL [0:30]

SLIDE: BOLO Campus Screen Graphic

NEIGHBOR: After all this remembering, thinking, and following, I forgot I was on my way home to take my dog Max for a walk. I’ve got to go, neighbors! But playing with you at Wonder! Clubhouse has been so much fun today! This week remember Jesus loves everyone even though we’re different. Give me a thumbs up if you’re going to meet me back here at Wonder! Clubhouse next week in Quest.

(Allow children to give a thumbs up.)

NEIGHBOR: Great! (Respond by giving a thumbs up to the children.) I can’t wait to see you next week. Have fun celebrating Elevation’s 10th birthday in your eGroups together! Bye, neighbors!
