STORYTELLER: “Hello, friends! It’s so good to see you! I’m super excited because this month we’re talking about being thankful! I can think of a whole bunch of things I’m thankful for, but mostly I’m thankful for the PEOPLE in my life. I am thankful for people who help me! I’m so excited. And, when I ask you this very important question, ‘Who are you thankful for?’ I want you to say, ‘People who help me!’ Let’s try it. Who are you thankful for?

CHILDREN AND STORYTELLER: “People who help me!”

STORYTELLER: “Great job! You guys are awesome. Everyone stand up and let’s sing our two songs about being thankful!”

CHILDREN AND STORYTELLER: “People who help me!”

STORYTELLER: “That’s right! People who help me! Remember, our memory verse says just that. Let’s have some fun saying our memory verse today! First, I want all the BOYS to say the verse with me. Ready?”

BOYS AND STORYTELLER: “Always (spread arms wide) give thanks (hand to chin) to God (point up), Ephesians 5:20.” (Open your hands like a book.)

STORYTELLER: “Great job, boys! Now, I want all the GIRLS to say the verse with me. Ready?”

GIRLS AND STORYTELLER: “‘Always (spread arms wide) give thanks (hand to chin) to God,’ (point up) Ephesians 5:20.“ (Open your hands like a book.)

STORYTELLER: “Great job, girls! Now, everyone, remind me one more time: Who are you thankful for?

CHILDREN AND STORYTELLER: “People who help me!”

STORYTELLER: “That’s right! Let’s check in with Ollie at Wonder! Clubhouse to learn more about being thankful.”

STORYTELLER: “That was really great! Remind me again, Who are you thankful for?

CHILDREN AND STORYTELLER: “People who help me!”

STORYTELLER: “Yes! What a cool story about the lady and her husband helping Elisha! Just like Elisha, we have people who help us by giving us what we need, too. Let’s pray and thank God for the people who help us. Everyone bow your head and close your eyes.”

STORYTELLER: “God, thank you for the story about Elisha and the people who helped him by giving him what he needed. Please help us to remember to be thankful for the people who help us, too. Remind us to say ‘thank you’ out loud to the people who help us. We love You. In Jesus’ name, amen”
