CHILDREN AND STORYTELLER: “People who help me!”

STORYTELLER: “That’s right! People who help me! Remember, our memory verse says just that. Let’s have some fun saying our memory verse today! First, I want all the BOYS to say the verse with me. Ready?”

BOYS AND STORYTELLER: “Always (spread arms wide) give thanks (hand to chin) to God (point up), Ephesians 5:20.” (Open your hands like a book.)

STORYTELLER: “Great job, boys! Now, I want all the GIRLS to say the verse with me. Ready?”

GIRLS AND STORYTELLER: “‘Always (spread arms wide) give thanks (hand to chin) to God,’ (point up) Ephesians 5:20.“ (Open your hands like a book.)

STORYTELLER: “Great job, girls! Now, everyone, remind me one more time: Who are you thankful for?

CHILDREN AND STORYTELLER: “People who help me!”

STORYTELLER: “That was really great! Remind me again, Who are you thankful for?

CHILDREN AND STORYTELLER: “People who help me!”

STORYTELLER: “Yes! What a cool story about God sending Elijah to help the widow! Just like Elijah was a friend to the widow, we have friends who help us, too. Let’s pray and thank God for our friends! Everyone bow your head and close your eyes.”

STORYTELLER: “Dear God, thank You for all the people in our lives who help us. If we tried to name them all, it would take forever! We know You made all of the people who help us, and we are thankful for each of them. Thank You for loving us so much. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
