STORYTELLER: “Hello, friends! It’s so good to see you! I’m super excited because this month we’re talking about being thankful! I can think of a whole bunch of things I’m thankful for, but mostly I’m thankful for the PEOPLE in my life. I am thankful for people who help me! I’m so excited. And, when I ask you this very important question, ‘Who are you thankful for?’ I want you to say, ‘People who help me!’ Let’s try it. Who are you thankful for?

CHILDREN AND STORYTELLER: “People who help me!”

STORYTELLER: “Great job! You guys are awesome. Everyone stand up and let’s sing our two new songs about being thankful and helping others!

Song: “I Wanna Say Thank You”

Lead children in singing “I Wanna Say Thank You.”

Song: “WooHoo I Can Help You”

Lead children in singing “WooHoo I Can Help You.”

STORYTELLER: “What incredible singers you are! You can sit down now. (Pause.) Tell me, ‘Whose way is perfect?’”

CHILDREN AND STORYTELLER: “God’s way is perfect!”

STORYTELLER: “What incredible singers you are! This is going to be a fantastic month. You can sit down now. (Pause.) Tell me, Who are you thankful for?”

CHILDREN: “People who help me!”

STORYTELLER: “That’s right! People who help me! In fact, our memory verse says just that. Watch me say it and do the motions, and then you can do it with me. ‘Always (spread arms wide) give thanks (hand to chin) to God (point up), Ephesians 5:20. (Open your hands like a book.) Let’s try that together.”

CHILDREN AND STORYTELLER: “Always (spread arms wide) give thanks (hand to chin) to God (point up), Ephesians 5:20.” (Open your hands like a book.) (Repeat several times.)

STORYTELLER: “Great job! Remind me one more time: Who are you thankful for?

CHILDREN AND STORYTELLER: “People who help me!”

STORYTELLER: “That’s right! Now let’s check in with Ollie at Wonder! Clubhouse to learn more about God.”

STORYTELLER: “That was really great! Remind me again, Who are you thankful for?

CHILDREN AND STORYTELLER: “People who help me!”

STORYTELLER: “Yes! There are so many people in our families who help us like our moms and dads, brothers and sisters, grandparents and cousins and aunts and uncles. Let’s pray and thank God for our families who help us. Everyone bow your head and close your eyes.”

STORYTELLER: “Dear God, thank You for giving us our families who help us. We are so thankful for all they do to take care of us. Help us to show the people in our families how thankful we are for each one of them. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
