Series Intro

“Motion, thanks for worshipping today! Everybody can have a seat.

(wait for kids to be seated)

Last week’s episode of Overboard take a tough turn as Ollie suffered an injury while training for his wakeboarding competition. Will Ollie be able to train through the injury or will he have to give up and let the bullies win? More importantly, even with an injury, can Ollie still find a blessing, even in this tough situation? Let’s find out in this week’s episode of Overboard!”

Overboard Episode 4

Video Outro / Dismissal to eGroups

“Motion, I’m so proud of Ollie! Even though his arm is still in a sling, he’s been able to find a blessing in the gift of his new friends.

In just a moment I’m going to dismiss you to your eGroups where you’re going to learn more from your eGroup leader about how you can find a blessing, even if you’re in a difficult situation.

When I call your eGroup leaders’ name you can stand up and follow them back to your eGroup.

(Use the Motion eGroup Leader sheet to call eGroup leaders’ names and dismiss kids.)

Wake Or Wipeout Game Setup

“Welcome back from your eGroups, Motion! During Overboard, we’ll be hanging out on the lake and whenever you’re on the lake, I bet you can find someone who’s either tubing, wake boarding, or water skiing. In our first game today we’re going to take a look at people who are doing some water sports and after the video freezes, you’ll have to figure out if the people in the video will ride the wake or wipeout in our game called Wake or Wipeout.

I’m going to give each eGroup leader a whiteboard and marker. You’ll huddle around your eGroup leader and I’ll show you a video which will freeze after a few seconds. You’ll have to decide whether the person will wake or wipeout. Your leader will write your teams answer on the board and hold it up. The team who gets it correct will earn 100 points.

Let’s pass out the whiteboard and markers and we’ll get started!”

(collect whiteboards and markers)

Before we go any further, I want to take a moment and welcome our VIPs. You’re a VIP if it’s your first time in eKidz and we’re so glad you’re here. Motion, help me welcome our VIPs!

(initiate applause)

If you’re a VIP, I’ve got some special instructions for you. Check out the screen!

This is a VIP lanyard.

[VIP Slide – Lanyard]

When you leave Motion, you need to take that lanyard to the Orange Tent.

Once you get to the Orange Tent, show them your lanyard and they will give you a gift!

[VIP Slide – Gift]

Let’s review.

[VIP Slide – All Combined]

VIP Lanyard + Orange Tent = Gift.

If you have any questions, just ask someone in a blue eKidz shirt! We’re all here to make sure you have an awesome time.”

Game Setup – Milk Take n’ Shake

“In today’s episode of Overboard, we saw that Ollie injured his arm as he was training for his big competition. In today’s game, we’re going to try to walk a  mile in Ollie’s water shoes as we play this game without the use of one of our arms. Motion, check out the screen!

*A kiddie pool full of white ping pong balls will be at the front of the room. Each kid will be handed a straw and each team will have their own milkshake glass.  Mixed into the pool will be two dozen red ping pong balls. When the host says go, one kid from each team will come to the front of the stage with their teams’ milkshake glass and remove one white ping pong ball from the pool using only the straw provided. They must remove one ball from the pool and drop it in the milkshake glass, bring the glass back to their team and pass it to the next person in line. The first team to get five white ping pong balls into their glass will send one final kid to put one red ping pong ball at the top of their milkshake glass. Throughout the entire game, one arm must be behind the kids’ back and they cannot use it at all.

The first team to have all the ping pong balls in the glass wins that round. The team who wins the most rounds wins the game*

Memory Verse Review

“Great job everybody! You can all have a seat.

(remove supplies from the game, instruct kids to be seated)

Today’s game had you making your own milkshakes out of ping pong balls, but starting next week, you can bring back your completed Milkshake Reward Card to earn your very own real milkshake. But remember, you’ve got to have the card to earn the prize. Be sure to have your completed card with you next week so you can enjoy this awesome summer treat!

Right now we’re going to work to memorize our memory verse for Overboard. If you’re able to memorize this verse during Overboard, you’ll be able to earn credit towards Ollie’s Milkshake Reward Card. Let’s take a look at the screen and say the memory verse together.

(say the memory verse with the kids)

Ok, now just the girls say it!

(say the memory verse with the girls)

Ok boys, your turn!

(say the memory verse with the boys)

Great job everybody! Make sure you’re practicing your memory verse throughout Overboard to earn credit towards the Bring It! Challenge!”

Dismissal Activity Setup

“Motion, before your parents come, we’ve got one more fun activity.

Before anybody become a wakeboard champion, they need to improve their balance and start building muscles to help pull off cool tricks. Kids who learn wakeboarding use lots of fun types of boards to help build their balance and during Overboard, we’ll be working with one of those boards to help you build balance and show off some cool moves.

In our final game, we’re going to test your team’s ability to pull off some sweet moves on a spooner board. We’re going to divide the room into 2 teams. Today we’ll be playing kids with glasses versus kids without glasses. I’ll call one person from each team to come up and complete a trick you’ll see on the screen. If you can complete the move, I’ll award your team a point. The team with the most points at the end wins the game.

Let’s divide into our two groups and get ready to play!”

(kids will divide into two groups and host will call one person from each team to come and compete during the round)
