Welcome / Talent Show
“Welcome to Motion and welcome to our series called Star Search! During this series we’ll be following Rosie from the popular Finders series as she works to become a contestant on a TV show called Star Search. Before we check out today’s episode, I want to search for some future stars who might be attending Motion today.
Talent comes in many different forms. We may have kids here who are great at singing, or we may even have some future artists in the room, but the talent we want to identify today is a little more ‘groovy.’ That’s because today we’re going to find out who can show us the best dance move!
When I call on you to come up to the stage, you’ll have to name your move, then we’ll put on some fun dance music and you’ll have 10 seconds to perform it!
(Call on five kids to participate and show of their best move. Just know that in order to get the kids out of their shell, you may need to go first! Introduce the kids to the audience first and make them feel welcome. Congratulate them after they get done. If this game flops or kids don’t want to participate, you can choose a more general talent like most pushups in 30 seconds, who can jump the highest, or other physical activities that would be fun to watch.)
Motion, all of our contestants did an outstanding job, but I’ve got to choose a winner from this amazing group. Today’s winner of the dance contest is _____________! Motion, give __________ and all of our contestants a big round of applause for competing!”
Star Search Episode 3 Setup
“During our series called Star Search, we’ve been watching as Rosie tries to make wise decisions while others are trying to get her to do the opposite. What’s going to happen to Rosie today? Let’s find out in this week’s episode of Star Search!”

Connect Questions / Dismissal to eGroups
“Motion, this Tiffany girl is making some pretty serious mistakes, especially stealing from the concession stand. I really hope Rosie learns how to treat others from Tyson and not Tiffany and her gang of mean girls. Right now, I want you all to circle around your eGroup leaders and I want you to answer a few questions about the video we just saw. Circle around your eGroup leaders now.
(give kids a short amount of time to circle up with their eGroup)
Alright, I’m going to ask you a few questions and you can answer the question with your eGroup. First question: Why do you think that Tiffany is being so mean to Ethan and Tyson? Take a couple of minutes to answer that question with your eGroups.
(give kids three minutes to talk)
Okay, next question: Have you ever had to help someone who was getting picked on before? Take a couple of minutes to talk about that now.
(give kids three minutes to answer the question)
Ok, last question! How do you think God wants us to treat others? Take a few minutes and answer that question as well.
(give kids three minutes to answer the question)
Right now, I want to send you all back to your eGroups where you can talk more about how we can stand up for what’s right, even when others don’t. When I call your eGroup leader’s name, you can stand up and follow them back to your eGroup.”
(dismiss eGroups by calling eGroup leaders’ names)
“Welcome back from your eGroups! Before we have some more fun, let’s take a moment and welcome a special group of people who are here for the first time today. Motion, help me welcome our VIPs!
If it’s your first time here, we consider you a VIP – a very important person! VIPs, turn your attention to the screen because I’ve got some special instructions just for you.
(refer to the screen)
This is a VIP lanyard. If you’re a VIP, you’re wearing this around your neck right now.
[VIP Slide – Lanyard]
When you leave Motion, you need to take that lanyard to the orange tent called the Welcome Area.
[VIP Slide – Welcome Area]
Once you get to the Welcome Area, show them your lanyard and they will give you a gift!
[VIP Slide – Gift]
[VIP Slide – All Combined]
VIP Lanyard + Welcome Area = Gift.”
Motion, let’s give our VIPs one more round of applause!
“In just a moment we’ll have a chance to sing and dance with some songs off the new eKidz album called One In A Million, but first, check out the screen.”
Worship Leader Intro Video
Worship Song – He Has Won
Worship Song – No Fear In Love
Game Setup – Slice N’ Dice
“Great job, Motion! Everybody can have a seat.
(make sure kids are seated)
In today’s episode of Star Search we saw Rosie steal Tyson’s sword, which is pretty bad, especially since Tyson is so incredible with it. I hear the guy looks like a ninja when he’s out there performing! Today you’ll have the opportunity to show off your sword skills in a game I like to call Slice N’ Dice.
Each eGroup will line up behind a line on the floor and the first kid in each line will receive a ninja sword. Then, a few feet away will be another kid on your team with a bucket of balls ready to toss one at the kid with the sword. The kid with the sword will swing the sword in a downward motion like this:
(make a downward chopping motion with a sword)
and if you hit the ball being tossed toward you, you’ll earn a point for your team. After you make one chop, you’ll pass the sword to the next kid in line, then you’ll go stand near the bucket and be the ball tosser for the next kid in line. This game will repeat until all the balls in the bucket have been tossed.
eGroups leaders listen up! Your responsibility during this game is keep track of your team’s score and to help them replace all of the balls into the bucket at the end of the round.
Ok, everyone line up with your eGroups and let’s start to Slice N’ Dice!”
Game – Slice N’ Dice
Bring It! Challenge Setup
“Motion, you all did an amazing job playing ‘Slice N’ Dice!’ Go ahead and find a seat with your eGroup leader and we’ll remove the game supplies before we talk about the Bring It! Challenge for Star Search.
(remove supplies from eGroups)
Motion, during Star Search you’ll have the opportunity to participate in the Bring It! Challenge, which will reward you for finding and reciting your memory verse as well as talking to your eGroup leaders about conviction. Turn to your eGroup leaders and they’ll tell you more about it now.”

Dismissal Activity Setup
“Motion, your parents are almost here, but before they arrive, I’ve got one more important piece of information for a special group of people: the Fifth graders. Fifth graders: your time in eKidz is coming to an end shortly, but that means that the fun is just getting started as you begin your transition to eStudents. On the way out today you’ll receive this handout
(hold up The Transition handout)
that will give you more information about The Transition and how you and your parents can sign up. Make sure you get one of these so you can begin learning about all the amazing things you get to do in eStudents.
Motion, I want to play one more game where we check out some other people’s talents. We’ll watch a clip from a talent show on television and then I’ll ask you a few questions about what you saw. Check out the screen!”
