“Welcome to Motion and welcome to the first week of summer! I know you can’t wait to go on trips, hang out with your friends, sleep in late, or even stay on your couch and yell at your TV while playing Fortnite all summer. Whatever your summer plans are, here in eKidz we’re going to take things to the next level in our new series called Amped! During Amped, we’re going to help you build your confidence and understand that with God’s help, you can have the confidence to change the world, no matter what you’re planning on doing this summer! But what is confidence? Let’s check out the screen and find out together.

Confidence: Living like you believe what God says is true.

Now Motion, we’re going to learn how God wants us to live our lives to their fullest potential and how we can live confidently for Him, even while we’re doing something crazy, like extreme sports. Check out the screen!”

Connect Questions Intro

“When we (you and you and you) build our lives with Jesus as the cornerstone, it means our life is built on one thing: our relationship with Jesus. When you believe in Him, you’re like a building with a firm foundation. It’s the same foundation as all the people that have ever trusted Jesus as their Savior.

Now, it’s time for us to answer a few questions about today’s Bible story and the video we just watched. Circle around your eGroup leaders now!

First question: What does it mean when we say that Jesus is the cornerstone in our life? Discuss that now.

(give kids one minute to answer the question)

Next question: What are some things that are important in your life? Discuss that now.

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Last question: We learned that Jesus should be the thing that matters most, so what are ways you can make sure Jesus is at the center of everything you do? How can you make him your cornerstone while playing sports? With friends? While playing video games?”

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Worship Intro

“Wow, you really had some great answers today! It’s so good to be able to sing praises to Jesus today. We can be confident that He has done great things, and that He’ll continue to do great things. Let’s sing, dance, and clap our hands and praise God as we sing, ‘Dance.’”

“Now Motion, it’s time for the Bring It! Challenge!

During this month’s Bring It! Challenge, you’ll need to do the following three things to receive a prize. Check out the screen.

(watch the Bring It! Challenge video)

That’s right, Motion! To receive your Bring It! prize, you’ll need to:

FIND Psalm 27:13 in your Bible and show it to your eGroup leader.

RECITE the verse for this series, Psalm 27:13, from memory.

SAY our virtue for this series from memory. In fact, that’s on the screen now, too!

(say the virtue again with the kids)

Confidence: Living like you believe what God says is true.

Ok, so let’s recap. To earn your prize, you’ll need to FIND this month’s verse, RECITE the verse to your eGroup leader, and SAY the virtue for this month. Take a look at the screen and you can see the prizes now!

(refer to the prize slide)

Circle around your eGroup leaders and let’s complete the Bring It! Challenge!”

“Great job during the Bring It! Challenge, Motion! Now if you remember, last month during our Up In The Air series, we gave away drones as part of the Bring It! Challenge! Well this week we chose the winners of the giveaway, and so I wanted to take a second and congratulate the winners of the competition! Check out the screen for the list of winners!

Game Setup – Ride The Rapids

“Now Motion, it’s time for today’s game! During our series Amped, we’ll be looking at different kinds of EXTREME sports and for our first adventure, I thought we’d head down some river rapids, trying to brave the whitecaps of the fiercest rivers across the world.

Today’s game is going to test your coordination and attention, making sure you’re paddling and twisting your body in a way that’s going to get you down the river safely. When you’re kayaking, like we will be today, there’s four simple moves you need to know. Let’s review them now.

#1: Forward – Alternate left and right strokes at an even pace.

(have the kids practice this move)

#2: All Right – Paddle only on your right side.

(have the kids practice this move)

#3: All left – Paddle only on your left side.

(have the kids practice this move)

#4: BACK – Leaning back, row backwards on the left and right sides alternating.

(have the kids practice this move)

Now during this game, I’m going to be calling out which direction we need to go. If you follow my lead, we may JUST be able to get through some of the wildest rapids in the world.

Everyone sit on the floor with your paddles in hand like this.

(sit on the floor with your hands in front of you, holding the imaginary paddle)

Now, let’s get ready to ‘Ride The Rapids!’”
