Welcome / Video Intro

“Hello Motion and welcome to our series called – everyone say it with me –

This series is all about Humility and how we can put others first. Why don’t you take a look at the screen and say this with me!

HUMILITY—Putting others first by giving up what you think you deserve.

Today we’re going to hear about how Jesus loves us and how He was willing to do whatever it takes so we could be closer to God. Take a look at the screen.”

Connect Questions

“Even though Jesus is God’s son, he loved us enough to make the ultimate sacrifice for us. In the story we heard, Jesus decided to give His life so we can be closer to God. He let go of what He wanted to do what was best for us.

Let’s circle around our eGroup leaders and answer a few questions about the humility Jesus showed. Do that now.”

(give kids time to circle around eGroup leaders)

First question: While in the garden, what was Jesus asking God to do? Discuss that now.

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Second question: When Jesus was in the garden, He made the decision to put us first. What are some ways you can put someone first this week?

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Now Motion, our final question is our ‘See What God Can Do Through You’ question. Today’s question is: What can you give up this week in order to put someone else first? Think of what you can do at home, with your friends, at school, or maybe even with your parents. Discuss that question now.”

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Worship Intro

“Great job, everybody! I heard some incredible answers coming from your eGroups today. It’s time for us to celebrate God’s love as we stand to our feet and sing songs of thanks and praise. Stand to your feet as we sing ‘For Your Glory.’”

Dismissal To eGroups

“Great job, Motion! Everybody stay standing because it’s time for us to head back to our eGroups. When I call your eGroup leaders’ name, you can follow them back.”

(dismiss kids back to eGroups)

VIP Welcome

“Welcome back from your eGroups! Before we continue, I wanted to take a moment and welcome some very special guests who came to visit us for the first time. Motion, help me welcome our VIPs!

(initiate applause)

If it’s your first time here, we consider you a VIP – a very important person! VIPs, turn your attention to the screen because I’ve got some special instructions just for you.

(refer to the screen)

This is a VIP lanyard. If you’re a VIP, you’re wearing this around your neck right now.

[VIP Slide – Lanyard]

When you leave Motion, you need to take that lanyard to the __________ tent called the Welcome Area.

[VIP Slide – Welcome Area]

Once you get to the Welcome Area, show them your lanyard and they will give you a gift!

Game Setup – The Goal Zone

“Our series GOOOOOAL! takes us to the soccer field as we discover what it takes to be a superstar of humility, but what does it mean to have superstar skills as well? One of skills soccer superstars have is ball control – the ability to put just enough power on a shot or a pass to put it right where you need it. Let me give you an example of what it looks like when you don’t have ball control. Take a look at the screen.

(refer to the video)

Now I’m hoping you’ve all got better ball control in today’s game called ‘The Goal Zone.’ In this game, your Game Group will try to kick a ball with just enough power and control to get it to stop precisely inside these two lines.

(point out the two lines at the front of the room)

We’ll call these lines the ‘Goal Zone.’ Each Game Group will line up behind a line and try to send the ball rolling towards the Goal Zone. If the ball lands inside the Goal Zone, your group will earn 100 points. Once the kids in the front of the line take their turn, eGroup leaders will send the balls back to the front of each line and then the next kid will line up to take their shot.

Let’s form our Game Groups and then line up behind the line to play ‘Goal Zone!’”

Bring It! Challenge Setup

“Now it’s time for us to clean up these game materials and get ready for our Bring It! Challenge.

(collect all game materials and make sure eGroup leaders have supplies to complete the Bring It! Challenge)

During this month’s Bring It! Challenge, you’ll need to do the following three things to receive a prize:
1. FIND Philippians 2:3 in your Bible and show it to your eGroup leader
2. RECITE our memory verse for this series, Philippians 2:3.
3.  SAY our virtue for this series.

Ok, so let’s recap. To earn your prize, you’ll need to FIND this month’s verse, RECITE the verse to your eGroup leader, and SAY the virtue for this month. Circle around your eGroup leaders and let’s work on that now!”
