Bible Passage: Proverbs 22:3
Memory Verse: “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God…and it will be given to you.” James 1:5a, NIV

“Welcome to Motion and welcome to our series The Hunt! This month, we’re learning all about wisdom and how we can grow in wisdom. But what is wisdom and how can wisdom help us? Let’s check out the screen. I’ll read it out loud and then we’ll read it together.
Wisdom: Finding out what you should do and doing it.

Now Motion, we’re going to check in with a guy named Tyson who we met last week as he embarked on a scavenger hunt in his grandfather’s basement. Tyson’s going on a scavenger hunt, but I wonder if he’ll hunt down some wisdom along the way. Check out the screen.”

Connect Questions Intro

“Sometimes danger is pretty obvious, like how you shouldn’t touch an oven when it’s glowing red, or how you shouldn’t click on every ad or video you see on YouTube. But not every danger is obvious, or clear, and when we need guidance, we should stop what we’re doing and ask God to give us wisdom to make better choices, just like God gave Solomon wisdom.

Now, it’s time for us to answer a few questions about today’s Bible story and the video we just watched. Circle around your eGroup leaders now!

First question: What type of decisions did you see today’s characters make? Were those wise decisions or unwise decisions? Discuss that now.

(give kids one minute to answer the question)

Next question: What are some wise choices you’ve made recently? What are some unwise choices you’ve made?

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Last question: What advice would you have for someone who you see making a bad choice? How can you help them stop and think about what they’re doing?”

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Worship Intro

“Great job, Motion! I heard some amazing answers coming from your eGroups. When we seek out the wisdom from God’s Word and put it into action, we can live like God wants us to. One way we can live like God wants us to is to worship and sing songs, thank Him right now for everything He’s done for us.

And we’re going to sing, dance, and thank God for everything He’s given us. Everyone stand to your feet and let’s worship God by singing, ‘Alive.’”

Worship Song – Alive

Worship Song – Louder

Dismissal To eGroups

“Great job, Motion! Everybody stay standing because it’s time for us to head back to our eGroups. When I call your eGroup leaders’ name, you can follow them back to eGroup and gain a little wisdom yourself.”

(dismiss kids back to eGroups)

VIP Welcome

“Welcome back from your eGroups, Motion! Before we continue, I want to take a moment and welcome our VIPs who are here with us for the first time today! Motion, help me welcome our VIPs!

(initiate applause)

If it’s your first time here, we consider you a VIP – a very important person! VIPs, turn your attention to the screen because I’ve got some special instructions just for you.

(refer to the screen)

This is a VIP lanyard. If you’re a VIP, you’re wearing this around your neck right now.

[VIP Slide – Lanyard]

When you leave Motion, you need to take that lanyard to the __________ tent called the Welcome Area.

[VIP Slide – Welcome Area]

Once you get to the Welcome Area, show them your lanyard and they will give you a gift!

[VIP Slide – Gift]

Let’s review.

[VIP Slide – All Combined]

VIP Lanyard + Welcome Area = Gift.

If you have any questions about where to go or what to do, just ask someone in an eKidz shirt and we’ll be more than happy to help you out!”

“Now Motion, it’s time for the Bring It! Challenge!

The Bring It! Challenge is where you can earn fun prizes for doing something you already do — learning your memory verse and virtue! During this month’s Bring It! Challenge, you’ll need to
do the following three things to receive a prize. Check out the screen.

(watch the Bring It! Challenge video)

That’s right, Motion! To receive your Bring It! prize, you’ll need to:

FIND James 1:5a in your Bible and show it to your eGroup leader.

RECITE the verse for this series, James 1:5a, from memory.

SAY our virtue for this series from memory. In fact, that’s on the screen now, too!

(say the virtue again with the kids)

Wisdom: Finding out what you should do and doing it.

Ok, so let’s recap. To earn your prize, you’ll need to FIND this month’s verse, RECITE the verse to your eGroup leader, and SAY the virtue for this month. Take a look at the screen and you can see the prizes now!

(refer to the prize slide)

Now, let’s circle around our eGroup leaders and complete the Bring It! Challenge!”

Game Setup – Six Corners

“Great job during the Bring It! Challenge, Motion! Now, it’s time for us to play today’s game! In this game, you’ll need to make wise choices as you move from corner to corner trying to avoid getting called ‘out’ by this gigantic dice I’ve got in my hands.

I’m going to give six volunteers a sign that designates a corner, one through six. When I say, ‘Go!’ you’ve got 10 seconds to move from corner to corner before the giant dice decides your fate.

After 10 seconds, I’m going to roll the dice and the corner that is selected is ‘out’ and must sit down. Then, the volunteer holding that sign puts down the sign and that corner is completely removed from the game.

Every round there’s a chance that your corner will be called. BUT every round there’s also a chance that a corner that’s already ‘out’ will be called. If this happens, then everyone remaining in the game is safe.

We’ll play this game for 10 rolls of the dice and we’ll see which of you can last all the way until the end!

Let’s hand out our corner signs to our volunteer leaders and then you all can choose your first corner. After that, it’ll be time for the dice to make its choices.

Everyone choose a corner and let’s play ‘Six Corners!’”
