Connect Questions

“Mary Anna showed kindness to someone who she didn’t know – someone who it might have been easy to ignore. But Mary Anna knew that to be like Jesus, we need to show kindness to everybody – even those we may overlook.

Now, let’s answer a few questions about today’s Bible story and the video we watched. Circle around your eGroup leaders now!

(give kids a few moments to gather around their eGroup leaders)

First question: In what ways did Mary Anna show kindness? Discuss that now.

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Second question: If you were in a new place and someone showed you kindness, how would that make you feel? Has that ever happened to you before? Discuss that now.

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Final question: Choose someone at school who may often get overlooked. How will you show kindness to that person this week? Be specific!”

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

(dismiss kids back to eGroups)

“Welcome back from your eGroups! Before we continue, I wanted to take a moment and welcome some very special guests who came to visit us for the first time. Motion, help me welcome our VIPs!

(initiate applause)

If it’s your first time here, we consider you a VIP – a very important person! VIPs, turn your attention to the screen because I’ve got some special instructions just for you.

(refer to the screen)

This is a VIP lanyard. If you’re a VIP, you’re wearing this around your neck right now.

[VIP Slide – Lanyard]

When you leave Motion, you need to take that lanyard to the __________ tent called the Welcome Area.

[VIP Slide – Welcome Area]

Once you get to the Welcome Area, show them your lanyard and they will give you a gift!

[VIP Slide – Gift]

Let’s review.

[VIP Slide – All Combined]

VIP Lanyard + Welcome Area = Gift.

If you have any questions about where to go or what to do, just ask someone in a blue eKidz shirt and we’ll be more than happy to help you out!”

That’s right, Motion! To receive your Bring It! prize, you’ll need to:

SAY our virtue for this series from memory. In fact, that’s on the screen now, too!

(say the virtue again with the kids)

jTV Promo Intro

Great job during the Bring It! Challenge, Motion! The Bring It! Challenge is always exciting, just like it’s exciting when we launch a brand new eKidz series like we’re doing in just two weeks! We’re so excited to share with you the first sneak peek at our brand new series, JTV and introduce you to the star of the series, Jay. Motion, check out the screen!”

jTV Promo

“JTV looks awesome! I can’t wait to be here in two weeks, meet Jay, and find out what JTV is! I know it’s going to be so much fun!

Speaking of fun, today’s game is called ‘Redirect’ and it’s a game that is going to test your teams’ ability to work together and knock this bean bag into the bucket a few feet away. Here’s how this game works…

Each Game Group will send one member to stay in front of their Group behind a bucket. Then, the Game will form a line and toss bean bags towards the person behind the bucket. The kid behind the bucket will then, using two hands, try to slap the bean bag down and get it inside of the bucket. For every bean bag that
makes it inside the bucket, your team will earn a point. Each person in line will step up, toss their bean bag, then move to the back of the line while the kid up front works to redirect the bean bags inside of the bucket. Pretty simple!

Form your Game Groups and after you do that, we’ll set up the buckets and pass out the bean bags. Form your Game Groups now!

(wait for kids to form Game Groups)

Now that you’ve got your game groups, send one kid up to be the one who redirects the bean bags into the bucket and then we’ll begin laying ‘Redirect!’”
