Connect Questions Intro

“Life can be distracting, but we need to keep our eyes focused on Jesus. We learned today that when we keep our eyes on Him, nothing can shake our confidence.

Now, it’s time for us to answer a few questions about today’s Bible story and the video we just watched. Circle around your eGroup leaders now!

First question: Why do you think Peter began to fall in the water? Discuss that now.

(give kids one minute to answer the question)

Next question: What types of things distract you from your parents, from household chores, or from Jesus?

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Last question: How can you limit the distractions in your life and focus on Jesus?”

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Worship Intro

“Wow, you really had some great answers today! We can have confidence that God has done great things, and that He’ll always be with us. Let’s celebrate that today as we sing, dance, clap our hands, and praise God. Stand to your feet and let’s sing, ‘Louder.’”

(initiate applause)

If it’s your first time here, we consider you a VIP – a very important person! VIPs, turn your attention to the screen because I’ve got some special instructions just for you.

(refer to the screen)

This is a VIP lanyard. If you’re a VIP, you’re wearing this around your neck right now.

When you leave Motion, you need to take that lanyard to the __________ tent called the Welcome Area.

Once you get to the Welcome Area, show them your lanyard and they will give you a gift!

Let’s review.

[VIP Slide – All Combined]

VIP Lanyard + Welcome Area = Gift.

If you have any questions about where to go or what to do, just ask someone in an eKidz shirt and we’ll be more than happy to help you out!”

“Now Motion, it’s time for the Bring It! Challenge!

The Bring It! Challenge is where you can earn fun prizes for doing something you already do — learning your memory verse and virtue! During this month’s Bring It! Challenge, you’ll need to do the following three things to receive a prize. Check out the screen.

(watch the Bring It! Challenge video)

That’s right, Motion! To receive your Bring It! prize, you’ll need to:

FIND Philippians 1:6 in your Bible and show it to your eGroup leader.

RECITE the verse for this series, Philippians 1:6, from memory.

SAY our virtue for this series from memory. In fact, that’s on the screen now, too!

(say the virtue again with the kids)

Confidence: Living like you believe what God says is true.

Ok, so let’s recap. To earn your prize, you’ll need to FIND this month’s verse, RECITE the verse to your eGroup leader, and SAY the virtue for this month. Take a look at the screen and you can see the prizes now!

(refer to the prize slide)

Circle around your eGroup leaders and let’s complete the Bring It! Challenge!”

Game Setup – Stayin’ Dry

“Great job during the Bring It! Challenge, Motion! Now, it’s time for us to play today’s extreme game. In today’s video, Max showed us the extreme sport of kayaking and whenever your extreme sport involves sailing down a rushing river, you don’t really want to get too wet. That’s rally the point of today’s game — to stay dry and send all of the water in your boat to one of the other teams.

In this game, we’re going to divide the room into two halves.(Larger campuses may opt to divide the room into four quarters.) We’re going to put a ton of water, or blue paper, on each side of the room. When I say ‘GO!’ you and your team will start throwing your water into the other teams’ area in an effort to stay ‘dry.’ After 30 seconds, the team that has the least amount of water in their are, or the team that is the most ‘dry,’ is the winner of that round.

Every round we play the game I’m going to make it a little more difficult to stay dry. I may have you play with one arm behind your back, I may have you be seated on the ground, or I may have you toss the paper behind your back. Every round is something new, so stay sharp!

Let’s divide into even teams and get ready to try and stay dry!’”
