Welcome / Video Intro

“Welcome to Motion and welcome to back to Gadgets and Gizmos! Now as I’m looking around, I see a lot of you wearing your Love Week shirt! That means you served during Love Week and earned signatures for our Serve and Sign event. If you received signatures on your shirt, make sure you head to the prize area outside (SEE NOTE) after Motion to receive your awesome prizes!

Throughout Gadgets and Gizmos we’ve been learning that God made us unique. But what does it mean to be unique? Let’s take a look at the screen and you can say this with me:

Uniqueness: Discovering who God made you to be so you can make a difference.

In today’s Bible story we’re learning about a very unique man who helped someone in need, especially in a time where it was NOT expected. Take a look at the screen!”

252 Story

Connect Questions

“This man from Samaria had a choice to make – he could have either walked past the person in need or he could have made the unique decision to help him. He chose to help the person, even when others didn’t because he knew that God made him to do good!

Now, let’s answer a few questions about today’s Bibles story. Circle around your eGroup leaders now!”

(give kids time to circle around eGroup leaders)

First question: Why was it so unique for the Samaritan man to help the Jewish man that had gotten hurt? Discuss that now.

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Second question: When has someone helped you that you didn’t expect? Discuss that now.

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Now Motion, it’s time for our final question: Who can you help this week that wouldn’t expect it? What you will you do for them? Discuss that with your eGroup now.”

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Worship Intro

“Great job, everybody! I heard some incredible answers coming from your eGroups today. It’s time for us to celebrate God’s love as we stand to our feet and sing songs of thanks and praise. Stand to your feet as we sing, ‘Endless Praise!’”

Worship Song – Endless Praise

Worship Song – Shine A Light

Dismissal To eGroups

“Great job, Motion! Everybody stay standing because it’s time for us to head back to our eGroups. When I call your eGroup leaders’ name, you can follow them back.”

(dismiss kids back to eGroups)

VIP Welcome

“Welcome back from your eGroups! Before we continue, I wanted to take a moment and welcome some very special guests who came to visit us for the first time. Motion, help me welcome our VIPs!

(initiate applause)

If it’s your first time here, we consider you a VIP – a very important person! VIPs, turn your attention to the screen because I’ve got some special instructions just for you.

(refer to the screen)

This is a VIP lanyard. If you’re a VIP, you’re wearing this around your neck right now.

[VIP Slide – Lanyard]

When you leave Motion, you need to take that lanyard to the __________ tent called the Welcome Area.

[VIP Slide – Welcome Area]

Once you get to the Welcome Area, show them your lanyard and they will give you a gift!

[VIP Slide – Gift]

Let’s review.

[VIP Slide – All Combined]

VIP Lanyard + Welcome Area = Gift.

If you have any questions about where to go or what to do, just ask someone in a blue eKidz shirt and we’ll be more than happy to help you out!”

Game Setup – Pie in the Face!

“This summer we’ve posted some new Finders videos on our eKidz YouTube channel. If you’ve missed any of them, that’s ok, because we’re going to check out the latest one right now! Take a look at the screen.

(watch the game video)

Motion, that game looked ridiculous! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a game where people get pie’d in the face like that except for… DRUMROLL PLEASE!

(initiate drumroll)

That’s right, Motion! Today we’ll be playing our own Pie In The Face challenge  and a few lucky, or unlucky, Group leaders will be getting pie’d! Now, the game is pretty simple. I’ll call four Group leaders to the stage who will put on the safety equipment to wear. Then, we’ll divide the room into four teams and each team will receive one of these clickers.

(hold up a clicker)

Each team will form a circle and when I say go, each kid will click it 10 times and then pass it to the person on their right. The first team that is able to pass the clicker all the way around their circle wins that round and will be able to decide which leader on stage gets pie’d.

After we pie our leader, we’ll reform our groups, reset the clickers, and prepare to play again. Now, let me call a few leaders on stage. Motion, why didn’t you help me decide which people we’ll bring on stage?

(Bring Group leaders on stage and have them put on the safety equipment. Help kids divide into teams of four.)

Ok, now that we’re all ready to play, I’ll give each team a clicker and then then on my mark, we’ll start the first round!

On your mark, get set, go!”

Bring It! Challenge Setup

“Now it’s time for us to clean up these game materials and get ready for our Bring It! Challenge.

(collect all game materials and make sure eGroup leaders have supplies to complete the Bring It! Challenge)

During this month’s Bring It! Challenge, you’ll need to do the following three things to receive a prize. Check out the screen.

(watch the Bring It! Challenge video)

That’s right, Motion! To receive your Bring It! Prize, you’ll need to

  1. FIND Ephesians 2:10 in your Bible and show it to your eGroup leader

2. RECITE our memory verse for this series, Ephesians 2:10.

3. SAY our virtue for this series. In fact, that’s on the screen now, too!

(say the virtue again with the kids)

Uniqueness: Discovering who God made you to be so you can make a difference.

Ok, so let’s recap. To earn your prize, you’ll need to FIND this month’s verse, RECITE the verse to your eGroup leader, and SAY the virtue for this month. Circle around your eGroup leaders and let’s work on that now!”
