Memory Verse: “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” Psalm 27:14, NIV

“HAPPY EASTER! Welcome to Motion, where every day is packed with fun and excitement. Today is going to be awesome because we’re starting a brand new series, AND we’re also celebrating Easter, which is when we celebrate that Jesus is alive! It’s a time to remember the patience of the people who followed Jesus as they waited for the good news that God’s promises came true. But what is patience and how can it help us? Let’s take a look at the screen and find out!
Patience: Waiting until later for what you want now.

Throughout this month, we’ll learn that God has a plan and that God is always in control. Because He’s in control, we can show patience and trust that things will work out in the end. We’re going to take a look at the amazing story of Jesus and how God kept his promise to His people. Take a look at the screen!”

Worship Intro

“Motion, Easter is all about celebrating that God loves us, that God sent his Son Jesus to die in our place, and that Jesus raised from the dead three days later. God wants us to be part of His plan, and right now we’re going to celebrate God’s plan by singing and dancing and thanking Him for everything He’s done. Stand to your feet and let’s sing ‘Alive!’”

Worship Song – Alive

Worship Song – Brighter

Salvation Video Part One Intro

“Great job, Motion! Everyone can have a seat!

(wait for kids to be seated)

You’ve heard to day that God loved us enough to send His son, Jesus, to die for us, but that wasn’t the end of the story. We just heard that Jesus’ story wasn’t over when he was put into the tomb. Instead, the story had really just begun when we learned that Jesus was alive three days later! Now, Jesus wants to be a part of your story and I want to invite the Family Pastor of Elevation Church, Jeff Bates, to tell us more about what it means to invite Jesus to be part of our story. Take a look at the screen.”

Dismissal To eGroups

“Great job, Motion! Everybody stay standing because it’s time for us to head back to our eGroups. When I call your eGroup leaders’ name, you can follow them back.”

(dismiss kids back to eGroups)

Salvation Video Part Two Intro

“Welcome back from your eGroups, Motion! I know you’ve had a chance to talk to your eGroups about the amazing gift that is Jesus. Some of you may have a few questions about the things you’ve heard today and now you’ll have a chance to hear more about that. Motion, put your hands together and let’s welcome Pastor Jeff back to the screen!”

Dismissal to Next level eGroups

“Some of you have some questions about what it means to follow Jesus and I want to invite you to a Next Level eGroup where our team can help you answer some questions you may have. If you’ve received a Next Level invitation, you can stand up and follow ___________ to the Next Level eGroup. Hey __________, why don’t you give everyone a big wave?

(wait for __________ to identify themselves)

If you received a Next Level invitation, stand up and follow _________ now.

(wait for Next Level kids to leave the room)

Memory Verse Game Setup

“Thanks for showing patience while we helped our Motion friends head to their Next Level eGroups! Now we’re going to play a game that’s going to help us understand and learn our memory verse for this series, Psalm 27:14. In fact, let’s put it on the screen and take a look at it together.

(reference the memory verse slide on the screen)

Let’s say it together!

(say the memory verse with the kids)

Now we’re going to play a little game using the memory verse for this series to help you prepare for the Bring It! Challenge for this month. I’m going to divide the room into two teams and each team will send one person to the front to act out a way that we can show patience.

I’ll tell the people on stage what to act out and then, without speaking, the kids on stage will act out what I tell them. The first team to correctly guess what their actor is acting wins the round. Simple!

After each round, we’ll all say our memory verse together and then I’ll call two more people to come up to the stage for the next round. Let’s prepare to play!”

(divide the room into two teams, call the first two players on stage and play the game until Next Level eGroup members return to Large Group)

“Great job during the game, Motion! I’m glad to see some of our friends coming back from the Next Level eGroups, so now is a good time to extend a special welcome to our friends, the VIPs! Motion, help me welcome our VIPs!

(initiate applause)

If it’s your first time here, we consider you a VIP – a very important person! VIPs, turn your attention to the screen because I’ve got some special instructions just for you.

(refer to the screen)

This is a VIP lanyard. If you’re a VIP, you’re wearing this around your neck right now.

[VIP Slide – Lanyard]

When you leave Motion, you need to take that lanyard to the __________ tent called the Welcome Area.

[VIP Slide – Welcome Area]

Once you get to the Welcome Area, show them your lanyard and they will give you a gift!

[VIP Slide – Gift]

Let’s review.

[VIP Slide – All Combined]

VIP Lanyard + Welcome Area = Gift.

If you have any questions about where to go or what to do, just ask someone in a blue eKidz shirt and we’ll be more than happy to help you out!”

Easter Egg-Venture

“We’ve been having a lot of fun this Easter, but the fun isn’t going to stop when you leave Motion today! On the way out we’re going to give every family an Easter Egg-Venture — an Easter game you can take home and play with your family, filled with all kinds of awesome Easter challenges. Make sure you’re leaving with your family’s copy of this egg-citing game on the way out today!”

Game Setup – Bunny Business

“Now Motion, it’s time for our big Easter Game! Now typically our friend and Easter mascot, the Easter Bunny, is a kind soul whose presence always signifies the arrival of sweet easter treats. WELL NOT THIS TIME! This year, the Easter Bunny is working to make sure that his/her stack of Easter Peeps stays safely tucked away in his/her bunny warehouse. In this game, you’re going to test your luck against the Easter Bunny by, hopefully, choosing the correct Easter eggs out of your Game Groups’ basket and avoiding the wrath of the Easter Bunny!

In just a moment you’ll all divide into Game Groups, or groups of 10 kids, and stay standing. At the beginning of each round, you’ll choose one Easter egg from your Game Group’s Easter basket. You’ll hold the egg high in the air and then the Easter Bunny will choose one egg from his/her basket and show everyone the color egg he/she chose. If the Easter Bunny chooses the same color egg you’ve chosen then you’re out and you’ve got to sit down.

We’ll do this 10 times and the Game Group that has the most members still standing at the end of 10 pulls wins the game! If your Game Group wins, then your Game Group leader will be able to take a pie full of the Easter Bunny’s Peeps and stuff it right back in his/her face! Let’s go ahead and pass out the materials for today’s game!

(hand out supplies to each Game Group)

And now, Motion, it’s time for me to bring out the Master of Merriment, Hider of Eggs, and the baddest Bunny you’ll ever meet, it’s the Easter Bunny!”

(Easter Bunny will then reveal themselves with an accompanying audio track. Make sure the kids give the bunny plenty of space to walk)

Dismissal Movie Intro

“Motion, you’ve done such an amazing job today! It’s been an amazing Easter and I know you’ve had an awesome time today. Now, it’s time for your parents to arrive, but we’re going to watch one final video to help us understand what it means to show patience. Check out the screen!”
