Welcome / Video Intro

“Hello Motion and welcome to our new series called The Aetherlight*: A Finders Adventure. This week we’re beginning an epic quest as we join our friends The Finders and learn what it means to show courage. Speaking of courage, let’s take a look at the screen and check out what courage is.

Courage: Taking the fist step, even when something is difficult.

That’s right, Motion! Even when things are difficult, we shouldn’t be afraid to do what God’s called us to do and take the next step. While that may be easy for us to say now, what does that look like when we’re not in Motion? What does it look like when we’re in our neighborhoods or in our schools?

That’s exactly what one of the Finders, Alex, has been facing as he’s been teased by kids at school and is wondering what his next step is going to be. Let’s check in with Alex and find out what’s happening in the first episode of The Aetherlight: A Finders Adventure. Check out the screen!”

(give kids time to circle around eGroup leaders)

(give kids one minute to answer the question)

(give kids two minutes to answer the question)

Now Motion, it’s time for our final question: Some of our friends and family members may be facing something difficult. What can you say or do that will give them courage? Discuss that with your eGroup now.”

Game Setup – Automaton* Attack!

“Now Motion, it’s time for today’s game.

In this game, your Game Groups will try to scare away an approaching robot, just like Alex did in today’s episode. Each Game Group will be given a rock, just like this:

(hold up a bean bag)

and toss it towards the robot. If the rock lands on the robot, you’ll earn 100 points. If you get the rock inside the robot and score a direct hit, you’ll earn 500 points! After you toss the rock, you’ll go pick it back up, bring it to the back ofyour teams’ line, and each member of your Game Group will pass the rock to the front, where the next person is waiting to make their throw.

Each round will last one minute and at the end of that minute, we’ll find out which Game Group earned the most points and that Game Group will win the round.

Everyone form your Game Groups and let’s get ready to play Automaton Attack!”
