Worship Song – Hey Me

Series Intro

“Motion, thanks for worshipping today! Everybody can have a seat.

(wait for kids to be seated)

Last week we were introduced to Ollie Rollins, a young kid who’s staying at his crazy aunt and uncle’s house over the summer. Ollie learned pretty quick that in order to get the most out of his summer visit, he’s going to have to learn to have an attitude of gratitude, especially now that he’ll need help beating bullies in a wake boarding competition. What’s next for Ollie and Nigel? Let’s find out in this week’s episode of Overboard!”

Video Outro / Dismissal to eGroups

“Motion, it looks like Ollie’s training is going to really start picking up now that  Gage is going to train him. I just hope that once this is all over, Ollie remembers the people who have helped him along the way! In just a moment we’re going to dismiss to our eGroups and we’re going to learn more about being thankful for people who have helped us.

When I call your eGroup leaders’ name, you can follow them back to your eGroups.”

(Use the Motion eGroup Leader sheet to call eGroup leaders’ names and dismiss kids.)

Wake Or Wipeout Game Setup

“Welcome back from your eGroups, Motion! During Overboard, we’ll be hanging out on the lake and whenever you’re on the lake, I bet you can find someone who’s either tubing, wake boarding, or water skiing. In our first game today we’re going to take a look at people who are doing some water sports and after the video freezes, you’ll have to figure out if the people in the video will ride the wake or wipeout in our game called Wake or Wipeout.

I’m going to give each eGroup leader a whiteboard and marker. You’ll huddle around your eGroup leader and I’ll show you a video which will freeze after a few seconds. You’ll have to decide whether the person will wake or wipeout. Your leader will write your teams answer on the board and hold it up. The team who gets it correct will earn 100 points.

Let’s pass out the whiteboard and markers and we’ll get started!”

VIP Welcome

“Great job, Motion! Let’s collect the whiteboard from eGroup leaders.

(collect whiteboards and markers)

Before we go any further, I want to take a moment and welcome our VIPs. You’re a VIP if it’s your first time in eKidz and we’re so glad you’re here. Motion, help me welcome our VIPs!

(initiate applause)

If you’re a VIP, I’ve got some special instructions for you. Check out the screen!

This is a VIP lanyard.

[VIP Slide – Lanyard]

When you leave Motion, you need to take that lanyard to the Orange Tent.

[VIP Slide – Welcome Area]

Once you get to the Orange Tent, show them your lanyard and they will give you a gift!

[VIP Slide – Gift]

Let’s review.

[VIP Slide – All Combined]

VIP Lanyard + Orange Tent = Gift.

If you have any questions, just ask someone in a blue eKidz shirt! We’re all here to make sure you have an awesome time.”

Game Setup –  Need For Speed

“Motion, one of my favorite things to look at on the lake is watch for different kinds of boats, especially speed boats – a boat built to slice through the water and reach top speeds. In today’s game, you’ll be working with your teams to help some boats reach their top speed in a game I call ‘Need For Speed.’ Take a look at the screen!

*Each team receives one pool, two squirt bottles, and one toy boat. Kids will divide their team in half and get on opposite sides of the pool. The boat begins on one side of the pool and the team must squirt the boat as fast as they can to the other side of the pool. Once the boat touches the other side, that team earns one point and the kid hands their squirt bottle to the kid behind them. Then, the other side squirts it back and the game continues until time ends with teams earning points and passing the squirt bottles to the next person in line. Rounds last 2 minutes. The team with the most points at the end of the round wins the round. The team that wins the most round wins the game.*

Memory Verse Review

“Great job everybody! You can all have a seat.

(remove game supplies from the space, instruct kids to be seated)

Right now we’re going to work together to start memorizing our memory verse for Overboard. Take a look at the screen and say the memory verse with me.

(say the memory verse with the kids)

Ok, now just the girls say it!

(say the memory verse with the girls)

Ok boys, your turn!

(say the memory verse with the boys)

Great job everybody! Make sure you’re practicing your memory verse throughout Overboard to earn reward points towards the Bring It! Challenge!”

Dismissal Activity Setup

“Motion, before your parents come, we’ve got one more fun activity.

Before anybody become a wakeboard champion, they need to improve their balance and start building muscles to help pull off cool tricks. Kids who learn wakeboarding use lots of fun types of boards to help build their balance and during Overboard, we’ll be working with one of those boards to help you build balance and show off some cool moves.

In our final game, we’re going to test your team’s ability to pull off some sweet moves on a spooner board. We’re going to divide the room into 2 teams. Today we’ll be playing boys versus girls. I’ll call one person from each team to come up and complete a trick you’ll see on the screen. If you can complete the move, I’ll award your team a point. The team with the most points at the end wins the game.

Let’s divide into our two groups and get ready to play!”

(kids will divide into two groups and host will call one person from each team to come and compete during the round)
