COMPASSION: Caring enough to do something about someone else’s need.
Series Memory Verse:“God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son. Anyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life.” John 3:16, (NIV)
Main Point:God did something about our greatest need.
Bible Story: God Loves the World | John 3:16
God’s compassion for the people He created led to the greatest act of love the world has ever seen. God sent His only Son to make us right with Him. We reflect that compassion when we care about others and show them how much God loves them. That’s the mission God has for each of us!
In John 3:16, God helped a man named Nicodemus understand what God’s love is all about. God knew our greatest need of a savior and did something about it. God gave us Jesus, His one and only Son, to be our savior. God did something about our greatest need for a savior by giving us Jesus, His gift to the world.
God did something about our greatest need. Jesus was God’s gift to the world and we pray that kids start to understand their need for a Savior and put their trust in Jesus.
At dinner tonight, ask, “What is the greatest gift you ever received? How did it make you feel to receive it?”
