Jesus demonstrated what serving really means by washing His disciples’ feet and even laying down His life for the sins of the world. We reflect His character to the people around us when we lend a hand and serve.
This week, we discovered one of Jesus’ most famous miracles recorded in John 6:1-13. Jesus saw the large crowd that had followed Him and decided to feed them. When a boy offered his lunch, five loaves of bread and two fish, Jesus took the boy’s gift and used it to feed over 5,000 people.
Use what you have to serve others. Sometimes kids might look at a situation and wonder if they have anything they can offer to help. We hope they remember that God can use whatever they have to do some amazing things. They just need to be willing to use it to serve others.
At dinner tonight, make it a goal that everyone is going to serve someone else in your family. Then, talk about how good it felt to be served and to serve each other.
