Motion :: Week of June 17

Creativity: Imagining what you could do because you are made in God’s image.
Series Memory Verse: “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139:14 (NIV)
Main Point: God made you.
Bible Story: Creation Story: Adam & Eve | Genesis 1:26 – 2:25

From the opening pages of Scripture, we encounter God’s creativity in action. But God is not finished creating! He created people in His image to take care and develop His magnificent creation. Humans are unique in that we reflect God in how we interact with each other and the world around us. That interaction includes God’s creativity. We may not form mountains and oceans, but we create art and music, build cities, solve problems, and innovate technology—all of which starts with the creativity God has placed in us.

In Genesis 1:26–2:25, we take a closer look at how God created Adam and Eve. God wanted to fill the earth He created with His image, so He formed Adam from the dust of the ground, and formed Eve with Adam’s rib. He created people to bring Him glory as they cared for and developed the earth.

Gadgets and Gizmos | Adam and Eve (Week 2) from Elevation Church eKidz on Vimeo.

God made each one of us. This is not something to take lightly. Out of everything God could have done, He created each and every person on the planet to be like Him as they interact with each other and with the world. Because God made us, we have value beyond what we do because of who they are as God’s child.

The Bring It! Challenge
We want kids to Bring It! to church. The Bring It! Challenge encourages Motion kids to bring themselves, their Bible, and scripture they’ve learned to Motion. Not only can kids be rewarded for bringing it, but the Bring It! Challenge is a fun way to grow and learn more about God and how He wants us to live.

During Gadgets and Gizmos, kids can earn fun prizes each week. Kids have to do all three of the following to earn  a prize:

  • FINDING Psalm 139:14 in their Bible.
  • RECITINGPsalm 139:14 from memory.
  • SAYING the series virtue, CREATIVITY, from memory. (CREATIVITY: Imagining what you could do because you are made in God’s image.)
