(Neighbor comes on stage, waving at the children.)

NEIGHBOR: Hello, friends! Welcome back to MY neighborhood. I’m so glad you’re here! My name is _________ (your name) and I love living in this neighborhood. There are so many (make binoculars around eyes) great people and places in this neighborhood and I can’t wait for you to join me as we visit all of my favorite places!

NEIGHBOR: In Wonder! Clubhouse this month we’re going to talk about how God calls us to  love one another just like He loves us. This means we need to love our neighbors and other people close to us. Turn to your neighbor and show them love by giving them a hug!

(Allow children to give their neighbor a hug.)

NEIGHBOR: Great! God created us to love and we can use that love to live fun life with our neighbors and worship God together! Today we’re learning, “I can love God and people in my neighborhood!” Repeat that after me:

I can love God (hug self)
(Allow time for children to repeat.)
and people (point out)
(Allow time for children to repeat.)
in my neighborhood! (make binoculars around eyes)
(Allow time for children to repeat.)

NEIGHBOR: Great job, everyone! Now let’s sing this song about how great our God is and worship him together in our neighborhood!

NEIGHBOR: What incredible singers you are! Everyone give your neighbor a high five and have a seat!

(Allow children to give their neighbor a high five and encourage them to sit down.)

NEIGHBOR: This month we’re going to learn about loving our neighbors. You’re my neighbor. I’m your neighbor. And we can love each other!

NEIGHBOR: The Bible says,

SLIDE: MNEI Memory Verse

with all your heart. (place both hands over heart)
Love (hug self)
your neighbor (point out)
as yourself. (thumbs to chest)
Matthew 22:37-39 (open hands like a book)

NEIGHBOR: Not only should we love God with our whole heart, but we should love the  people around us, too! We can love our neighbors by using kind words, playing nicely, and showing them love, no matter what.

NEIGHBOR: We are going to learn this Bible verse so we can remember to love God and love our neighbors! Repeat after me.

Love (hug self)
(Allow children to repeat.)
the Lord your God (point up)
(Allow children to repeat.)
with all your heart. (place both hands over heart)

Main Point Review [0:30]

Neighbor stands up.)

NEIGHBOR: What a great time at Wonder! Clubhouse! Did you have fun with our neighbor, Brooklyn? Because I sure did! Ollie came to visit the Clubhouse and helped us learn,

I can love God (hug self)
and people (point out)
in my neighborhood! (make binoculars around eyes)

NEIGHBOR: We heard a story from Luis the handy man about a man named Saul. Do you  remember the story? Once Saul met Jesus on his way to Damascus [duh-MASK-us], his life was changed in a BIG way! It wasn’t just his name that changed; his whole life changed. Paul loved Jesus, and he wanted to show Jesus’ love to the people in his neighborhood! We can show love to God and other people in our neighborhoods, just like Paul. Repeat what we are learning today   after me:

SLIDE: MNEI Campus Screen Graphic

NEIGHBOR: What incredible singers you are! Everyone high five your neighbor and have a seat!

(Allow children to high five each other and encourage them to sit down.)

NEIGHBOR: Now it’s time for us to remember (hold hands like a book) our Bible story, think (point to head) about the good things from our story, and follow (march in place) the example set by the people in the Bible story.

SLIDE: MNEI Remember WK1

NEIGHBOR: First let’s REMEMBER (hold hands like a book) … Who spoke to Paul on his way to Damascus [duh-MASK-us]?

(Allow time for children to answer – “God.”)

NEIGHBOR: You got it!

SLIDE: MNEI Think WK 1

NEIGHBOR: Now, let’s THINK (point to head) about the good things from our Bible story. What changed about Saul after his trip to Damascus [duh-MASK-us]?

(Allow time for children to answer – “He loved God and people!” or “His name changed to Paul!”)

NEIGHBOR: Yes, way to go!

SLIDE: MNEI Follow WK 1

NEIGHBOR: Now, let’s say how can we FOLLOW (march in place) the example set in our Bible story. How can we follow Paul’s example?

(Allow time for children to answer – “We can show love to God and     people!”)

NEIGHBOR: That’s right! If you can follow the example in our Bible story and show love to God and people, turn to your neighbor and give them another high five!

(Allow children to high five a friend.)

DISMSSAL [0:45]

SLIDE: WCLU Campus Screen Graphic

NEIGHBOR: Now I know we can can show love to God and our neighbors, I think it’s time for me to get to my baseball game! I play on a team with some of the kids in my neighborhood and it’s such a blast!

NEIGHBOR: This week remember we can love God and we can love our neighbors by using kind words, playing nicely, and showing them love, no matter what. Give me a thumbs up if you’re going to meet me back here at Wonder! Clubhouse next week in Quest.

(Allow children to give a thumbs up.)

NEIGHBOR: Great! (Respond by giving a thumbs up to the children.) I can’t wait to see you next week. Bye, neighbors!
