(Neighbor comes on stage, waving at the children.)

NEIGHBOR: Hi everyone! I’m so glad you’re hanging out in our neighborhood today. We’re having so much fun at Wonder! Clubhouse and I can’t wait to see what new friends we’ll meet today. My name is _________ (your name) and I definitely want to be friends with each and every one of YOU! Do you want to be friends with me, too?

(Allow children to respond, “Yes!”)

NEIGHBOR: Wahoo! Friends take care of one another, help one another, and praise God    together, too! God gave us a very precious gift when He gave us the gift of friendship. I want everyone to turn to someone next to you and say, “Hello, friend!”

(Allow children to say, “Hello, friend” to someone sitting hear them.)

NEIGHBOR: Friends are fun and I’m so thankful God gives us friends! Today at Wonder! Clubhouse, we’re learning, “God gives me good friends to have fun with!” Repeat that after me:

God gives me (thumbs to chest)
(Allow time for children to repeat.)
good friends (two thumbs up)
(Allow time for children to repeat.)
to have fun with! (double high five a friend)
(Allow time for children to repeat.)

NEIGHBOR: Great job, everyone! Since God gives us friends to have fun with, let’s all stand up and have fun by worshiping God together with our friends!

Memory Verse Review[1:45]

SLIDE: WCLU Campus Screen Graphic

NEIGHBOR: That was so much fun! I love seeing all of our Quest friends worshiping God    together. Everyone turn to a friend, give them a high five, and then have a seat!

(Allow children to give their neighbor a high five and encourage them to sit down.)

NEIGHBOR: This month we’re going to learn about friendship. If you have a friend, raise your hand high in the air.

(Allow children to raise their hands.)

NEIGHBOR: Wow! That’s a LOT of friends. Since you all have friends, then you know what a friend acts like. Now tell me, does a friend share toys with you?

(Allow children to say, “Yes!”)

NEIGHBOR: They sure do! Does a friend let you go first when you’re playing a game?

(Allow children to say, “Yes!”)

NEIGHBOR: That’s right! Does a friend help you up when you fall down on the playground?

(Allow children to say, “Yes!”)

NEIGHBOR: That’s great! You all have some very good friends. And the Bible tells us how YOU and I can be good friends, too!

SLIDE: WCBT Memory Verse

NEIGHBOR: We are going to learn this Bible verse so we can remember what God says about being a good friend! Repeat after me.

Therefore (point out)

(Neighbor stands up.)

NEIGHBOR: What a great time at Wonder! Clubhouse! Did you have fun with our neighbor, Madi? Because I sure did! Ollie came to visit the Clubhouse and helped us learn,

God gives me (thumbs to chest)
good friends (two thumbs up)
to have fun with! (double high five a friend)

NEIGHBOR: We heard a story from our neighbor, Carrie. Do you remember the story? It was about two friends named David and Jonathan! David and Jonathan did everything together, and were each other’s favorite person. They shared everything they had with each other     because they both wanted to honor God with their friendship. God is so great He gave David and Jonathan a friendship, and he gives us friendships, too! Just like David and Jonathan were friends and had fun, God gives us friends to have fun and play with, too! Repeat what we are learning today after me:

NEIGHBOR: That was so much fun! I love seeing all of our Quest friends worshiping God together. Everyone turn to a friend, give them a high five, and then have a seat!

(Allow children to give their neighbor a high five and encourage them to sit down.)

NEIGHBOR: Now it’s time for us to remember (hold hands like a book) our Bible story, think (point to head) about the good things from our story, and follow (march in place) the example set by the people in the Bible story.

NEIGHBOR: In order to remember what was in our Bible story today, we need to be quiet and listen. Can we think about what we learned in our Bible story if we are talking to our friends?

(Allow children to say, “No!”)

NEIGHBOR: That’s right! In order to remember our Bible story, we also need to sit down criss cross applause! Can we think about what we learned in our Bible story if we are standing up and running around the room?

(Allow children to say, “No!”)

NEIGHBOR: You got it! I know we can remember, think,  follow the example in our Bible story by following these rules!

NEIGHBOR: Now that all of our friends are ready, let’s remember, think, and follow!

SLIDE: WCBT Remember  Wk1

NEIGHBOR: First let’s REMEMBER (hold hands like a book) … Who was David’s best friend?

(Allow time for children to answer – “Jonathan.”)

NEIGHBOR: You got it!

SLIDE: WCBT Think WK1

NEIGHBOR: Now, let’s THINK (point to head) about the good things from our Bible story. What kinds of things did David and Jonathan do together?

(Allow time for children to answer – “Laugh, eat, tell each other secrets.”)

NEIGHBOR: Yes, way to go!

SLIDE: WCBT Follow WK 1

NEIGHBOR: Now, let’s say how can we FOLLOW (march in place) the example set in our Bible story. Can we follow David and Jonathan’s    example by having fun with the friends God gave us?

(Allow time for children to answer – “Yes!”)

NEIGHBOR: That’s right! If you like to have fun with the friends God gives you, give a high five to a friend sitting near you!
