Quest – Week of January 15 #Quest

Bible Story: Healing The Deaf Man | Mark 7:32-37
Main Point: Jesus is there when I need help.
Memory Verse: “You are everything I need.” Psalm 119:57 (NIrV)

Jesus is with us ALL THE TIME and He is all we need. He was there when the blind man needed Him. He was there when a man lowered from the roof by his friends on a mat needed Him. He was there to heal the deaf man and the lepers who needed Him. He was there to calm the storm when the disciples needed Him. Just like He was there when all these people needed Him in the past, He will be there when we need Him in the future. Jesus is all we need, and He’s with us ALL THE TIME.

In this week’s lesson, people bring a deaf man who can barely talk to Jesus and He heals him.

Imagine how frustrated the man would have been when he couldn’t hear or talk! That would have made it really tough for him to communicate with anyone. When Jesus helped the man by healing him, it changed his life! There is one Person who is always there to help, no matter what. Jesus is there when we need Him.

January Memory Verse
This month join us in helping your child learn Psalm 119:57 (NIrV). Children can recite the verse every week in January to earn a special memory verse card. When your child receives a memory verse card celebrate with them on learning their verse and put the card on their Quest poster.

You are (point up)
everything (spread arms wide)
I need. (thumbs to chest)
Psalm 119:57 (NIrV) (open hands like a book)

Jesus is with us all the time! Our verse this month tells us Jesus is everything we could ever need. We can trust Him and follow what He says because He is always there for us. Practice this verse together and encourage your child to recite it to their eGroup Leader this week in Quest.

Family activities to review the lesson lesson with your child this week:

  • At BathTime ask your child,“Do you have everything you need?”  Remind your child that our friend Jesus is always there when we need Him.
  • At PlayTime take turns tossing a ball into a basket. Let your child try with closed eyes. Talk about the blind man who needed Jesus’ help.
  • Parent Resource | Growing Knowledge: “The future of your children is not only linked to what they know, but to their desire to keep learning.”
