Bible Story: Noah Finished The Job | Genesis 6:14-16, 6:22-7:1
Main Point: “I Will Finish What I Start!
Memory Verse: “This is love for God: to keep his commands.” 1 John 5:3a (NIV)
We’ve been having so much fun up high in the sky with Sunny the Cloud and our Quest friends! This weekend the White Warthog spotted the Two by Two cruise ship passing by below and we looked down to see what was happening on the upper deck of the ship.
Aunt Jessie was showing Sydney and Shelby how to tie a knot so they could secure all the lifeboats on the ship. After tying just one knot, Shelby decided tying knots was boring and headed to the gift shop, leaving Sydney to tie knots by himself. When Aunt Jessie checked on Sydney and Shelby and learned Shelby didn’t finish tying her knots, she had Sydney and Shelby head to the Two by Two theater for the daily Bible story.
In the theater we heard about Noah and when God told him to build a large boat. God was going to flood the earth to remove all the evil people. Noah was going to build the boat so he and his family could be saved. God gave Noah instructions on how to build the boat, what wood to use, and how it should be. This boat was going to take a long time for Noah to build. Noah worked on the boat for 120 years to finish the boat! But Noah never gave up. No matter how long it would take, Noah wanted to finished what he started.
Shelby learned she should be like Noah and finish tying all her knots, and all of us in Quest learned “I Will Finish What I Start!”
Sunny the Cloud has so much fun up in the sky so high with his Quest Animal friends. Each weekend we will meet a different Quest Animal up high in the sky and each weekend children can collect these special Quest animal clouds. Any child who collects six of the nine Quest Animal clouds and brings their Sunny the Cloud poster August 16 or 17 will receive a Sunny the Cloud Memory Game!
This weekend we met Sunny’s friend, the White Warthog. CLICK HERE to download the White Warthog cloud.
Our memory verse during Sunny the Cloud teaches children to show God we love Him by doing what He says. Children will have the opportunity to say the memory verse every weekend of the series for a Sunny pop! Work with your child to learn this verse by using the hand motions below:
This is love (cross arms over chest)
for God: (point up)
to keep (point to head)
his commands. (two thumbs up)
