Series Virtue: Unity – working together to accomplish a goal
Bible Story: Paul’s Arrival in Rome | Acts 28:11-16
Main Point: Team members encourage each other.
It all comes down to this: the grand finale to The Worship Games 2. Who will prevail? Will it be the Orange Team of Dr. Oldman and Brad Hudson or will it be the Black Team of Oscar Spielman and Lance Gatch? Find out right now!
There you have it! The Black Team has won The Worship Games 2! Both teams competed hard, but only the Black Team comes out victorious.
Mr. Larry made an excellent observation of how the Black Team grew in its unity throughout the competition. The evidence of that was their encouragement of each other. Encouragement is an important part of unity. When we’re working together with others, encouragement should be present.
In the Bible, Acts 28 tells us about the encouragement that Paul received when he arrived in Rome. He had been on a long, hard journey and faced uncertain times, but when he connected with the other Christians in Rome, they encouraged him and he was strengthened to continue on his path.
There are two important pieces to this – first, we need to surround ourselves with people who encourage us and lift us up. But second, and equally important, we need to be people who encourage and lift up those around us. Have a conversation with your family about how each of you can fulfill both of those charges.
