Monthly Focus: Who can help me? (God can help me.)
Bible Story: David and Jonathan ● 1 Samuel 18:1-4; 20:3-42
Main Point: God can help me do hard things.
Memory Verse: “We have the Lord our God to help us.” 2 Chronicles 32:8 (NIV)
Things are going to happen in our’ lives where they we need God’s help — times when our lives will zig one way and then zag another. But God loves us and can help us anywhere, with anything, no matter how hard it may be. He can even help us help others! This month, we’ll learn about the life of David and how even when it zigged and zagged, God was there to help him.
In this week’s lesson, we learned about David and his best friend Jonathan.
Saying goodbye to our friends can be hard, but God can help us do hard things, just like he helped David and Jonathan. We have to do hard things all the time, but we don’t have to do them alone! God is always there to help us!
October Memory Verse
This month our Bible verse tells us God is always with us to help us!
Children can recite the verse every week in October to earn a special memory verse card. When your child receives a memory verse card celebrate with them on learning their verse and put the card on their Quest poster.
“We have (cross arms in front of you, fists pumped)
the Lord our God. (one hand on hip, the other pointing to the sky)
to help us.” (both hands on hips)
2 Chronicles 32:8, NLT (open hands like a book)
Practice this verse together and encourage your child to recite it to their eGroup Leader this week in Quest.
