Monthly Focus: Who can do what God wants you to do? (I can do what God wants me to do.)
Bible Story: Samuel | 1 Samuel 3:1-10, 19
Main Point: I can listen to God.
Memory Verse: “God made us to do good works.” Ephesians 2:10 (NCV)
Kids Rock! This summer we’ll learn about people in the Bible who did amazing things while they were still kids. They rocked because they did what God told them to do, and our children can obey God and do great things, too!
In this week’s lesson, the boy Samuel learns to listen when God speaks to him.
Even if we don’t hear God speaking out loud to us, there are lots of ways we can teach ourselves to listen to what He has to say! When we listen to God, we can do the things He wants us to do.
June Memory Verse
This month our Bible verse says our God made us to do good things. Kids don’t have to wait until they’re grown up to do what God wants them to do; them can start now!
Children can recite the verse every week in June to earn a special memory verse card. When your child receives a memory verse card celebrate with them on learning their verse and put the card on their Quest poster.
God made (point both hands up)
us to do (point to yourself)
good works. (thumbs up)
Ephesians 2:10, NCV (open hands like a book)
Practice this verse together and encourage your child to recite it to their eGroup Leader this week in Quest.
